See? This is why it's still good to have Fish on this team, his leadership. Although I do admit it seems pretty hypocritical for someone to be saying this stuff, and then doing pretty much everything imaginable to cost us the game, but it helped pump up and motivate the other guys, so who cares. At least it works.

Yeah, he can be saying that in a suit on the bench.

Yeah, that'll look way better, and then maybe he can advise Phil to let Shannon play starter minutes.

The Lakers fans' hatred of Derek Fisher has always been something that has confused me. Sure, he's starting to lose his touch a little bit on the court. But even Kobe has said how much easier it is out there with Fisher, as they have played together for so long. You guys cannot underestimate the value of chemistry on the court, and Kobe and Fish have that between each other more than most duos in the league. Defensively as well. Fisher isn't a great defender, but both he and Kobe would have tougher times out there if they didn't know eachother's tendencies out there. I'm not saying you have to love Fisher, but you guys should respect how much easier it makes Kobe's job out there.

Of course I respect Fisher and the job that he's done, but his production lately hasn't been of any good, and he keeps firing hasty jumpers that keep missing. On D, he is constantly outsmarted by Billups (to be fair,Farmar and Brown are too) But the difference is that Shannon is more productive at offense and attacks the rim more effectively than Fisher which causes guys to get open looks.

Tim the issue is that Shannon is better than Fisher, offensively and defensively. Combined with the slump that Fish has been going through since April.

tims point is that, in more simpler words, there is too much hate on fishers game, even if he hasnt played to his potential, he adds something else that doesnt show up on the stat sheet, chemistry between players, every great team has a glue guy, there best player cannott support that role fully because he has his role and that is being the best, the glue guy is why teams want veterans on the squad, because they have the experience and pascience to deal with things that younger players have not learned yet.

AKIRA, if he was a super glue guy like Luke he would have benched himself, until Fish got into a better flow at least. That was the best example of sacrifice on our team from a mediocre player.

I just don't recall Shannon making bad plays offensively, he doesn't force the issue like Derek.

Terrible reasoning. Fisher is the ultimate glue guy and I don't think you'd find a person on this team who would tell you different. Just because he hasn't benched himself doesn't mean he isn't a glue guy.

Where did I say Fisher wasn't a glue guy? That is just an assumption on your part.

He's another glue guy, he's not the benchmark to follow on this team. Luke has had more of an impact on this team by getting the guy who is productive, out there in the playoffs which counts for more.

But yeah saying if he was super glue guy, he'd bench himself is just silly.

What does "super" mean? To me it is just another way of debating who the best glue guy this year was, which in my opinion was Luke.

You want the definition of "super glue guy?"

Watch some tape of Luke in his contract year.

Now Luke's just a glue guy off the bench. But during his contract year? Beastly.
