Quis injured again? Wow.... Mavs lose Mbenga to suspension, Daniels to injuryBy DWAIN PRICEStar-Telegram Staff WriterORLANDO _ The already short-handed Mavericks had their roster trimmed some more Friday when the NBA suspended center DJ Mbenga, while guard Marquis Daniels is injured again.Neither player will be available when the Mavericks play the Orlando Magic at 6 p.m. Friday at TD Waterhouse Centre.Mbenga was suspended for one game without pay when he was issued a Flagrant One foul after he struck Cleveland?s LeBron James in the head _ the blow knocked James? headband off _ during Wednesday?s 107-94 loss to the Cavaliers. Game officials originally gave Mbenga a Flagrant One foul, but after reviewing video of the incident, the NBA upgraded it to a Flagrant Two foul.?That?s crazy," said Mbenga, who won?t be allowed in the arena Friday night. ?I?m surprised.?When I fouled him, I was just out there playing my game. I?m just trying to block shots. It was not my intentions to try to hurt him."In addition to Mbenga?s absence, the Mavs will also be without Daniels, who said he reaggravated his neck at some point during the game against Cleveland.?It?s a just a little precautionary thing, and it?s nothing to worry about,?? Daniels said. ?It?s too early to tell whether I?ll play Sunday [at home against Denver], but I?m definitely looking forward to it."Daniels missed 14 games earlier this season with a strained neck. On a personal front, Daniels? latest injury hurts even more, because he?s from Orlando and was in the process of purchasing 100 tickets for the Mavs? lone appearance in Orlando this season.?Of all the places to get this, it?s here," Daniels said. ?But it?ll be for the best."While the Mavs will not have Daniels and Mbenga, Josh Howard is expected to play, although the Mavs are still listing him as a gametime decision. However, Devin Harris (strained left quadriceps) and Adrian Griffin (strained right hamstring) are definitely out for the game.?I?m out and DJ gets suspended; that?s crazy," Daniels said. ?It puts a strain the team, but we?ll get Josh back tonight.?This will show our depth, and guys will have to just step up and make things happen. They know what they?ve got to do."

We need Harris back more than Griffin. It's not even close. Jameer Nelson with 26 points?

To me Daniels should be gone come offseason. He just does not fit what were doing here, he was a Nellie player through and through. Also, these injury probs are beginning to be a nuisance.

Quis is staying with Dallas until his contract expires. There is NO way we will get rid of him until he is out of our contract unless some team offers.

To me Stackhouse should be gone come offseason. He doesn't fit here either. Dallas's best shooting guard is Terry and Daniels is a backup. Stackhouse and Van Horn should be gone.

Then let go, Cubes is in a mode where he doesn't want to take on salary when he can erase it come offseason. Just like he's doing with Van Horn. Also, Stack's viewed as the 6th man and has clicked with Avery, that to me means he's staying until his contract runs out unless a deal comes up we can't pass.On Daniels, he doesn't have any of that going for him, that's why I think he will be gone.

Well the same could be said of Finley last year. With all the minutes Finley was playing you would think Finley was an Avery guy but he ended up leaving off the ammnesty clause. To me Stackhouse is in decline because of his knee and Dallas needs a shooting guard. Only if Dallas gets something good in return at shooting guard would Dallas trade Daniels.

It was obvious Fin thought he still deserved the major minutes and Avery took over the team halfway. Did you expect Avery to mess with anything? Also, Avery did push Fin's buttons by not playing him in 4th quarters. Stack is only starting now because of injuries. He's a bench player here, and a guy who will be gone soon anyways. If you haven't noticed Daniels will not start here consistently, even with these injuries, Avery goes to guys like Rawle over him. Griff started over him and will probably start when he returns, Stack is starting over him. We have a hole at sg, that needs to be filled, hopefully a trade or draft. Daniels/Stackhouse not the answer. Both are backups, Daniels can be bait for a trade, as well as Stack. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Avery had somebody on this earlier on the season. It's hard for him to bring in his players when were trying to keep the same team intact and keeping the payroll down.

Daniels>Stackhouse. Neither are great shooting guards but Daniels is more efficient and a better all around player. Stackhouse is capable of scoring a lot but more often than not he is a liability. If Avery doesn't see this than he is blind with favoritism.

Like you said neither are great, but both bring different aspects to the Mavs, good and bad. Still think both should go in a trade.

ACTUALLY, that could work! Terry moves to shooting guard and then Harris starts!
