outside of a delonte west wide open missed 3, the cavs should be up 2-1. no reason to talk about what didn't happen because it can always go both ways.
because they can't review foul calls. they can check on the next stoppage(which in this case was right then) to check and see whether or not a shot was a 2 or 3. you can't complain about them not reviewing something that isn't reviewable.
It's sad when the ESPN play-by-play guy has to argue with Mark Jackson when an obvious foul is called against the Lakers.
Disagree, LeBron's shot had a much lower chance of going in than West, it is what it should be. Again the Cavs can still win because Orlando is inconsistent, but they've been outdone in this early part.
disagree. of course west's shot was more likely to go in than lebron's. west is a better shooter and his was wide open. lebron isn't as good of a shooter as west and his shot was contested. but i don't see how that changes my point. the series could easily be 3-0 magic or 2-1 cavs right now, but it's not. it's 2-1 magic. and if you're going to talk about changing one shot in one game to change the result for a team, why not do the same in the other game?
So change two shots in your favor? LeBron was fortunate, you're saying West wasn't and said he should have made that. I don't see how that changes anything.
i'm saying there's no reason to change any shots. if magic fans want to say they should be up 3-0, it's stupid because they just as easily could be down 2-1(and either option would happen just changing one shot). west should have made his shot. doesn't matter because he didn't. lebron was fortunate to make his shot, but he made it so that's that.
I think that most superstars don't get as many calls as they seem to. Heat fans would say something similar to what you just posted about Kobe. Shaq fans have said things like that for years and years. LeBron and Cavs fans would say that, too, I bet. Ed O.
The block was clean. It was a bad call. Happens all the time. To all players. You can't put down LeBron because of one bad call. And the Magic won the game so it didn't really affect anything. LeBron is a great GREAT player and it's not because of the refs.
The last 5 minutes of the Laker/Denver game where it slowed to a crawl and was a parade to the free throw line was one of the boringest 5 minutes of basketball I have ever watched. Between not letting them play, and going overboard with the flagrant fouls (It is to the point I would rather they just get rid of the rule, and have technical fouls only). The facts are, the game was faster when they allowed the hits. The facts are, the fans want a fast paced game. At the rate they are going with the fouls, the game is no faster than NFL play which has a play clock between plays. Fuck that, that is not what basketball is about. Clean up the reffin. Let em play.
...they have done this every game of the series so far, mainly to give L.A. every possible chance to win [it worked well in game 1...Stern's mafia is legit...too legit to quit, hey heeeyyy!!!]
The Nuggets had a 29-11 FT edge in game one late into the game and the score was tied with a comparable amount of shots in the paint IIRC. We earned that last stretch, same with last night with the flagrant on Drew, tech then six fouls on Luke in 13 minutes, etc. Luke pissed off one ref after he told him he got hit in the neck by Nene, then got called for three straight fouls. We're not liked by everyone. Really? I thought a catch-and-shoot long 2, fading jumper off a jump ball with one second left was a lock to go in myself. :O
What's the over-under on total number of foul shots taken in tonights Cavs/Magic game. I think it is 90.5 and I would take the over.
