Is the word over at LG. Dahntay Jones upgraded to Flagrant 1 (his second game in a row) and Bynum downgraded to a personal foul. What a fucking joke these refs are. Is pushing in the back while shooting a layup a natural basketball movement? Is tripping on purpose a natural basketball movement? No. Are Kobe's elbows wile flopping a natural basketball movement? No. However, Kobe got suspended. A fucking joke. This league is rigged.
There's been a lot of discussion about the lack of consistency with the officiating this post season in regards to technical fouls. The problem is the amount of grey area with the intepretation of these fouls and the officials are getting caught up with the emotion of the moment. I just don't understand why they can't go to a replay to make sure they get the call right. The trio last night (Bennett Salvatore, Bill Spooner, Ken Mauer) has been the worst crew in the playoffs thus far. Any game with Benett "the Rat" Salvatore is going to be controversial.
That shitty stupid no-call on Jones and flagrant call on Bynum was a fucking joke. And Jones is annoying. The refs looks like they're in it to screw us.
The trip that Jones made was RIGHT in front of the refs. How they missed that is almost laughable. Obviously last night's game was rigged. You cannot tell me the refs even gave us a chance. These upgrade and downgrade crap is bullshit. Yeah, let's give Drew the flagrant today, so the Nuggets can get FTs and the possession. Nah, Jones's flagrant can slide, we'll just give it to him after the game so Lakers cannot benefit.
Yeah, just a flagrant 1 doesn't equal to a suspension. What a joke. We didn't even get the FT's in those 2 flagrants. Yet they got FT's and possession on a bullshit call on Bynum.
I am now 100% convinced the NBA is rigged. Game's 6 and 7 = big cash for the NBA. That is what they got in this series. Expect Cleveland to win on Thursday and get mad love from the refs.
everybody knows the nba is rigged, i always knew they would stretch this thing out for as long as possible, and end up getting the cavs and lakers into the finals, why do you think there is so much hype around it already, plus what about all the kobe/leabron commercials! the nba is a marketing giant and needs the money rolling in for it to survive, to bad that it causes this kind of thing.
It's too bad that the Nugs or especially the Magic are ruining it. lol DId you see that blatant phantom call for Lebron in game 4 at the waning seconds? He tripped on his own and they called a foul.. HAHAHA!
Too bad the refs couldn't call it in game. The outcome would be a bit different if Jones was called for that flagrant and bynum called for only a personal.
Yeah I was laughing at the call and shaking my head. LeBron lost his balance on his own and basically fell into Pietrus. Then of course the refs swallow their whistle on the very next play with the lob attempt to Howard with Varejao undercutting him. I'm glad Orlando prevailed after the b.s. calls they had to deal with. Rafer Alston was unbelievable last night.
Actually if you look at that LeBron play in slow motion, Pietrus did trip LeBron. They had it on BSPN.
The NBA is rigged, but I think it's rigged for small market teams to succeed. David Stern's business model is built on being able to expand the product. He needs to demonstrate case studies to smaller markets to convince them they can still compete with larger markets like LA, NY, CHI etc. The Spurs success has been the poster child franchise for David Stern. He would love to see an Orlando vs. Denver finals even though it will draw low ratings. Fans of the Lakers are going to buy tickets regardless of how the team does. As long as there's a chance the Lakers can win a title and they have a competitive team on the court with a superstar player they will draw sellouts. Having a LeBron vs. Kobe Finals would be great for the NBA, but I'm not sure how it effects Stern's long term vision for the league.
Do you have the video link? I'd like to take another look at it. I saw the replay of it last night and their feet get tangled up, but that's after LeBron stumbles on his own. I'd determine it to be incidental contact if anything.
They really should let us shoot FTs to start the game since they fucked up the call last game by calling nothing. That, to me, would make sense to do if you're upgrading a no call to a flagrant. Oh well, the refs have been ridiculously bad this series, so it doesn't shock me that they fuck up frequently.
Kobe needs to go straight into the post with Jones on him. The second Dahntay breathes his stink on Kobe he'll get whistled for a foul.
