Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Nice move, but that was Andrea Bargnani he drove around and dunked on. It would have been much more impressive against an NBA player. BNM
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? I'd love to have Hedo on this team. The guy is clutch, love his versatility and would fit right in at the SF position. He'd be a legitimate third scorer with Roy and Aldridge.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? It would be awesome to get Hedo. That would immediately make us a legit contender if we weren't already. A completely reliable third scorer who can do almost anything. Rebound, assist, drive to the basket, hit clutch threes. Make this deal!
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? He'd also be that playoff veteran people are always calling for. The guy has played in lots of big games back with the Kings and now with the Magic. He would be great to have in our locker room.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Would signing him take up our cap space? in that case we can't get a PG or a back up PF, and I would rather get either of those over Turkoglu.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Using cap space on a small forward, leaving nothing to sign a point guard upgrade, would seem like a bad idea...except that Turkoglu happens to have some point guard skills himself, so he actually partially addresses the need for a point guard. Solidifying the small forward position and adding another distributor would be a pretty interesting and possibly very good move. If Portland did add Turkoglu, do they continue running Blake/Sergio at point guard (I won't comment on Bayless until he's actually being used in the rotation) or should Portland try putting Batum at "point guard" for defensive purposes? Let Turkoglu and Roy handle and distribute, have Batum pass, slash and shoot on offense and defend the opposing point guard? I'm not entirely sure it would work, but it's an interesting idea to me. I don't really want Batum buried, since I think he's already a pretty useful player and I don't want his defense removed from a team struggling with its perimeter defense.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Backup PF are a dime a dozen. Joe Smith and Mikki Moore were both picked up very late in the year. I can guarantee Joe Smith is better than all of our backup PF. As for PG, who are you planning on picking up? There has to be somebody to pick up in order to pick them up, and I don't see anybody out there.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Great point we need to focus on using cap space to get a backup PF before we worry about a starting SF.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Interesting idea of moving Batum to PG. Hedo would basically be the PG on offense with Batum playing PG on D. If that did happen it would probably make the most sense to have Batum start at PG as you would want him to play most of his minutes when Roy and Hedo are on the court togeather. Then Blake would be available to sub in for Roy or Hedo to keep 2 ball handlers on the floor.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? I'd be very happy with any of Sessions, Andre Miller or Turkoglu. They all have some great advantages and would provide an element the team is lacking. I just hope we get somebody! And I don't mean a "quality" SF to be named later that ends up being James Jones. My fear is we end up with nothing and just stand pat this offseason as we did at the trading deadline when we held an asset with more value than Amare Stoudemire.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Good GOD, man. That would be a freak'n HUGE lineup! GO, LMA, HT, BR and NB? It just might work if Nic can find his jump shot this off season. I think he can, and will. I would much prefer Sessions, if I had my preference, but Turkoglu wouldn't be a bad consolation prize.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? I don't think the Bulls are going to re-sign Linton Johnson III, you can have him
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? Same. Sessions is my main hope, but Turkoglu would be an interesting talent and he's got skills the team needs.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? We need a point guard way more than we need a small forward. And IMO backup power forward needs to be upgraded way more than small forward. Batum is our small forward. He's only gonna be better next year and he will continue to get better. I am not saying I wouldn't like Turkoglu but we should only target him if we cant get Sessions.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? I'm NOT on the Turkoglu bandwagon. Yes, he's nice in many ways. But, this team already has an incredibly efficient offense. My feeling is that we need better perimeter defense. So, vote for Gerald Wallace! (Yes, I know he's not a free agent). Trade for Wallace Sign Sessions Live Large for Many Years.
Re: Turkoglu to leave the Magic? I'm sorry I like both those players but IMO we cant have both in our starting lineup. Too many players to leave open. We need more shooting than that. But like I said "IMO"
