If the guy could be available if they want to be able to pay Hedo. Has anyone mentioned him? This kid is KILLING it in the playoffs.
I liked Pietrus when he was a prospect for the Warriors. His defense was very good and he had extremely projectible offensive tools. I'd compare him to Webster, on offense. He had the tools, but they never turned into consistent weapons. He's having a nice playoffs, but his season was below average. I'd rather have Pietrus than Webster, due to his superior defense, but I wouldn't make Pietrus a focus or use free agent money to sign him unless there was nothing else to use it on (and even then, there would have to be some trade of Webster or Outlaw or both...four small forwards won't work). Batum is already as good as Pietrus and has the chance to become the offensive force that Pietrus never did become.
I wanted the Blazers to pick him up when he was a free agent with Golden State. The dude flat out nuts up in the playoffs, and that is the type of guys I look for. The players that can elevate their game in the playoffs. He may not have stopped Lebron from scoring, but then again, neither did Lebron stop him, so he was able to make up a lot of that damage while he was on the floor.
I think that's because he was one of those dudes, that when he was coming into the league was somehow 6'8" tall, but now that he is in the league, he is somehow 2 inches shorter!
I always remember him at 6'6'' and I would LOVE to have him on our team. But I we would HAVE to move Outlaw for sure to free up SF minutes.
Word. Pietrus is easily the stupidest player I've ever seen in the NBA. Hes having a nice series but me and every other GS fan I know laughed our asses off when he was given that contract by the Magic. He has a good defensive game about once a month, 90% of the time hes a foul machine. Hes getting away with a lot of contact on the playoffs so he looks better. He has just about the worst handle of any SG/SF I've ever seen as well. He pretty much only shoots well from the corners. Hes NOT a "tough guy" or a nasty player by any means and I've read that you guys want a bruiser/enforcer. He does rebound well, hes a decent shot blocker, and he can finish if hes set up to where he can take one or zero dribbles and finish. Hes a goofy, funny guy and a bright locker room presence.
Playing time. Give me a minutes breakdown that allows Rudy to play a decent amount with us acquiring a PG or SF. It's tough to do.
