    Pick anyone you want.

    My vote: Phil Jackson.

Someone who can get them to play solid defense every minute.

Could it be Larry Brown? He got Detroit play best defense in the league. I could be totally wrong too
But actually i think that's what 123 means, there's no perfect coach. Someone else could come and turn things worse

He's kind of a diva; can't stay anywhere too long and seems kind of pushy. I don't know about that.

I personally think it's Phil. Even though he's been frustrating this postseason at times, he's still the best coach for this team.

PJax is the ideal coach for this team. I have a problem with Kurt Rambis though since he's the "defensive coordinator" of the Lakers. Our defense is garbage. Our intensity on defense is garbage. Our defensive schemes are garbage.

    I'd say Popovich.
It'd be interesting to see what Sloan would do.

    Even JVG or SVG.

However I think in a lot of areas Phil is superb and still far superior to many coaches. Doing a coaching change can cause chemistry problems.

Chances are the Lakers will win the championship, and it won't matter.

From the names mentioned in the thread, here is my order of preference for this Laker team:

    1 - Phil
    2 - Popovich
    3 - Sloan
    4 - Larry Brown
    5 - SVG
    6 - JVG

Either Phil, Pop or Sloan IMO.

No Rambis, Shaw, or Byron Scott on your list?

How would Coach K do in the NBA? I remember Kobe was pushing for him to be the next head coach before the team decided to bring PJax back.

Coach K said he'd never coach the Lakers. I could be wrong.

Rambis and Shaw would be in the bottom of the list. Byron I would put ahead of Larry Brown.

We need someone like Avery Johnson who will get in players faces and actually show some emotion during the game. Phil's apathetic attitude rubs off on this team, because most are still young and inexperienced.

If we had a team of veterans, it would be a different story.

Would you really prefer to have Avery Johnson this year as the coach of this team? Do you honestly think he would do a better job than Phil?

No I meant like an Avery Johnson type. He makes frustrating decisions and substitutions at times, but I still feel he is at least one of the top coaches in the league. We complain about him a lot, but there really aren't too many coaches out there I would take over him without hesistation.

I just want him to stop being so apathetic during games and show some emotion. This team plays too relaxed and believes they can just sleep through a game and win with talent. Doesn't make matters any better with Phil looking like he is half asleep on the bench and not calling a timeout until the opposing team extends the lead so much and practically takes us out of the game.

Also not really feeling his idea of experimenting with lineups when the team is only 2 games away from the NBA Finals. At some point it has to give.
