Last draft: I was sure (and glad) from way back that we would draft Batum, but with our #13 pick and to stash in Europe. I was NOT high on Bayless OR Alexander (his pluses sounded too much like Outlaw's). I was on Rose. I really wanted us to land Kyle Weaver and am pleased to see him doing well in OKC.

2007: Oden all the way! I thought Corey Brewer would be better, but I also really liked Noah. I thought Thaddeus Young and Al Thornton would be busts... I thought Jared Dudley would be really solid (I still hold out hope!) Same for Koponen.

2006: I did NOT want the 'Stache. I suggested we just take Roy at #4 and people jumped all over me.

2005: REALLY wanted Bogut (phew!) but failing that, Williams first or Paul second (I had already given up on Telfair). Was pleased at the time to land Jarrett Jack.

2004: Thought Orlando was crazy to take Howard first... REALLY wanted Shaun Livingston. Happy to get Monia... Not so happy to get Telfair.

Further back, I was dead set against Tracy McGrady...

I remember that all the buzz had Rick Pitino taking him, so much so that I think he had to take his own Kentucky guy just to prove people wrong. Bad move. Billups and McGrady would've been a nice draft...

I wanted Roy over anyone else in that 06 draft (My dad really wanted the Stache though). I also liked Aldridge in that draft over Bargnani.

I was on the Oden bandwagon in 07.

I realllllllllllllllllly wanted Bayless last year, I was totally thrilled when he fell to #11 and we got him.

This year I am on the Maynor and Terrence Williams bandwagon.

So everyone who you've wanted we have gotten.. hmm.. I think we have finally narrowed down which moniker KP uses when he peruses the message boards. ;)

LOL I wish. I always liked Roy from his UDub days (cause he was one of the only guys I saw live). And his run in the NCAA Tourney, most specifically this game in which Nantz and Packer kept talking about how awesome Roy was plus the fact that UDub got screwed in that game sealed my love for Roy.

I also never understood why Bargnani was so highly thought of, and I was more impressed with LMA than Thomas in that 06 Tourney.

Oden was a no brainer IMO, and Bayless was an elite talent who should have been top 3 and someone on the O Live boards made this long post about how awesome Bayless was.

I was leaning Rudy Gay over Roy in '06, but had posted that I would be happy with either one. LMA, now that was a heck of a surprise. I liked his game a lot at Texas but figured the Blazers had no shot at him.

Last year at #13 I wanted Anthony Randolph. If he was gone I wanted Batum

    2007 I wanted Greg Oden

2006 Aldridge and Roy were ranked 1 and 2 on my wish list

2005 I was a lonely proponent of Chris Paul and crushed when they didn't go that way

2004 everyone I wanted was gone before the Blazers selected at 13. I really wanted them to trade up for Biedrins or Iguadala. Of the guys that were debated here (Telfair, Jefferson, Snyder) I was mostly silent but did like Kirk's performance at the combine... I didn't like his jumper

2003 I wanted Diaw or Josh Howard

2002 I was thrilled that they ended up with Qyntel... how in the world did he ever drop so far??? Prior to draft day I was hoping they'd somehow move up to select Nene

I don't follow college ball so I don't have an informed opinion. I was pretty sure Morrison was going to be a bust, though, because of the ridiculous hype. It just felt like mass hysteria.

    My draft bandwagon

I was on the Brandon Roy train ever since I seen him play against Uconn in the tourney. I really liked Russell Westbrook in last years draft also.

Every year or so there is a guy who can score bundles in college but is too slow/unathletic to play the pro game. Morrison was just the latest. Before there were guys such as Danny Ferry. They come through every few years. The thing that blew me away was that Jordan picked him. That alone basically told me that Jordan didn't even watch any workouts. From what I read, Morrison was on the south end of every workout against the group he worked out with. One of those guys, was Roy....

2008-Wanted Rose & Westbrook the most, sour on Bayless for a little bit but was thrilled to get him at 13, loved the Batum pick
Did not want Beasly, Mayo, Love, Lopez, Danilo
    Indifferent on DJ Augustin

2007-Torn on KD and GO..actually have the BBB.net link to prove it if anyone wants to see it, Im sure a few of you spoke in that one
Really wanted Jeff Green, Conley, and Young added onto our #1 pick, thought Zach could net us another high pick. Loved buying the Rudy pick
Really was high on Brandon Wright before the lotto..but after we won it no use for him, still thought he would be good..yikes
Thought Brewer would suck as well as Noah...wasn't sold on Horford either
Indifferent on Julian Wright, Spencer Hawes

2006- Hated the Roy pick..was a Gay/TT guy..wanted to keep Foye over Roy..ouch..thought LA's draft workout video looked great but hated the pick b/c I was so pissed at dealing bassy that everything was pissing me off
Was torn on Bargs, wasn't sure if he'd be great or not, I'm sure he was on top of my wish list one time or another
Not really fond of buying sergio at the time
    Wanted Stache :(

2005-Did not want CP3 b/c I thought Bassy was "it"
Really didn't like trading down, wanted Marvin or Bogut..yikes
Didn't think Deron would be that good
Liked Webster a smidgen better than Gerald Green
I did wonder why Granger fell so far on drat night

2004- Wanted Dwight and Shaun..thought Emeka was taken too high @2...had a man crush on Devin Harris
wanted Telfair (thought he was better than Jameer) but not at 13, wanted Big Al at 13 and Bassy later on.
Was super pumped with Monia at 24..didn't know what to think about Viktor
Thought Luke Jackson would be good...wow
Knew Ha would be a bust
overall, sadly, I thought we had the makings of a significantly great draft....WOW

2008- Augustin initially, but I was screaming for Bayless (over @ OLive) when I realized he was gonna drop past #4.

2007- Oden and Rudy after we bought the pick.

2006- Gay, coming into draft day. But after the Bassy for #7 deal, I wanted Gay and Roy (with #7; I didn't think he had the upside to warrant a top 5 pick). I wanted us to stay as far away from Aldridge (especially after his performance against LSU in the 06 tourney), Thomas (had "head case" written all over him), and AMMO (vehemently against him for pretty much everything).

2005- Gerald Green (the McDonalds dunk contest/game had me sold).

    2004- Jameer Nelson or Bassy.

I agree about Monia. I thought he had the makings to be the next Peja. I felt the same way after the draft, but then Nash dropped a bomb on us by predicting that we'd win about 19 games (or something close to that #, I think) in 05. sigh.....

2003 mock drafts had Monia as a top-10 pick. So when he slipped as far as he did in 2004 I was happy about the pick. But some players just aren't cut out to survive in the NBA. I still think Khryapa has a place in the League.

Another player I was high on for years was Tiaggo Splitter. Two years after he was drafted he's the best Center in the world not in the NBA. I hope we can steal his rights from the Spurs much like how the Rockets fleeced them for Scola.
