Lets say... we get back to the finals. Is Orlando the worst team for us to play? We lost both times to Orlando, we have no answer for threes and how do we stop Dwight (Bynum please GET up)? Honestly, when the playoffs started I did not want to see Portland in the West and Orlando in the east... What do you all think? We would have homecourt...
If Jameer plays, he'd still be hella rusty, so I doubt that he would be much of a problem compared to Turk and Dwight.
Nelson gave them far more trouble than Turk or Lewis ever did. Though I'd love to see him play because I guarantee he'd mess up their chemistry, even though I think he's terrific. You don't insert your starting PG back in the lineup for the NBA Finals when he hasn't played a game in months. That's insane unless he's Chris Paul. I think (hope) Gasol would get Lewis into quick foul trouble. The real key matchup will be Bynum and how he plays against Howard. He gets up for the great C's so we'll see if he finally nuts up when it matters. Here's hoping.
Would Odom start against the Magic? Defending the Magic Forwards with LO or Smaller players shouldn't be as much of an issue with the way they camp out at the three point line. We could use Gasol to chase them around a bit too but Odom seems more ideal.
Without Jameer, I'm not as worried about Orlando. I do think their style of play can give us fits, but I also don't think they'd have an answer for Kobe or Gasol. I also think that Odom, if he plays inspired basketball like last night, can give them tons of fits as well.
Bynum on Howard is way more important than Odom on Shard or Hedo. And Jameer can play, he'll be rusty as fuck. I think he'll be a non-factor. You just can't come back and expect to be the impact player you were. Game speed is different than practice speed.
Yep, that's what I said. If we just defend the 3 well and if Bynum can show that he is capable of guarding Dwight in single coverage, then we're good.
I don't want Orlando, with our without Jameer, they play the same style. Our bigs are going to have a tough time stopping Dwight, and pretty much everybody else on their roster can light it up at any given time. The only positive is that we won't have to worry so much about the calls since we won't have to face Lebron. We also have homecourt, so that is a plus, I guess. But watching the Cavs this series, this is EXACTLY why I was never afraid of them. They're overrated. Feasted on an easy schedule. Against elite teams, they always struggle.
Mo Williams quote: "We're going to have a 'lay it all on the line' type attitude. We're going to be competitive. We're going to go down with a fight." lol
If we play Magic I think Rashard Lewis will be the factor that Lakers will struggle with, same with Turkyglue like 2002 WCF when he was bankin' threes. I think Bynum and Gasol can keep Howard fairly contained, but it's the shooters I'm worried about.
Yeah, and then BSPN sucks Lebron's cock for it. IF Orlando loses game 6, then there is a very big chance they lose game 7 and Shaq will have proven to be a genius calling SVG the "Master of Panic". lol
I've heard SVG has had a choke history of playoffs, what exactly has he done? Game 6 at Orlando will be a major one, still Magic can win one on the road. I know Magic is worse than Cavaliers for us but somehow I want them to win, maybe it's because i want cleveland to lose ;D. If it's Magic vs Lakers in the finals, it's going to be 7 games TOUGH TOUGH series. Lakers have proven that they can win games if they want, but their hunger disappears when they're up.
Orlando was exposed last night on two fronts. 1. Cleveland ran them out of the gym early on by getting into their offense earlier in the shot clock and swinging the ball from left to right. Orlando's transition defense is horrendous and their perimeter rotations are a step slow. 2. No answer for LeBron in the high post in the 4th quarter. Kobe is also deadly operating from the highpost and FT line elbows. I'm really curious to see how Orlando defends Lebron in Game 6. Cleveland will certainly go to that bread and butter offensive set in the 4th until Orlando can show they can defend it.
I don't think the Magic have much defense perimeter-wise, but they did also start pretty slow in game 5. I'm not really sure , or mind/care, who takes it in the ecf at this point. :]
