His name is coming up a lot once again in trade rumors. There's no secret Phoenix is looking to unload contracts and avoid luxury tax. I always thought Amare and D'Antoni had a rocky relationship, but Amare was a lot more effective in D'Antoni's system and he makes it clear he loves New York. I think Phoenix will have a major roster shakeup this offseason and Amare would net them the most value to begin rebuilding. Should be a busy summer for Kerr.
Oh man, Kerr has messed up their team enough.....would you really trust him making a deal that will make or break your franchise?
I think the franchise broke the second Kerr made a deal for Shaq. He's made several mistakes and hopefully he's learned from them. A lot of new GMs make bad decisions early on and look like geniuses later on by taking advantage of the next new GM. ie Danny Ainge, Mitch Kupchak, Chris Mullin
Amare was saying the same stuff about the Bulls a week ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpD1PZlJgTU He's clearly trying to force his way out of Phoenix this summer.
I think the feeling is mutual from the Phoenix organization. If he ends up on the East Coast he should be able to elevate a lotto team into the playoffs and a playoff team into a top 4 seed.
I wonder if Miami has any shot at Amare still? JO & Beasley w/ picks or possibly Chalmers or Cook looks pretty attractive with young talent and that expiring for 2010.
not unless someone agrees to a sign and trade for amare... and nobody would do that... especially for anyone on the heat that isnt dwade..
Amare said on Chicago radio that he loves Vinny Del Negro, 50% chance he's traded, and other stuff to burn the bridge with Phoenix.
No way Miami trades for Amare, as they would have to give up Beasley. I think they'll get Wade to an extension this summer, re-sign Beasley, and then start praying the Cavs can't win the finals next year, and then if Cavs don't, start recruiting Lebron. If not, move on to Wade's other buddy Bosh. Because of Miami's cap situation, they can get Bosh (or Amare even) next offseason in free agency, while retaining Beasley.
