I like him a lot in the NBA. The league is very guard friendly and Curry is a natural born scorer. His release is quick enough to get shots off at the pro level despite being a little undersized. His dad played in the NBA so he has an edge knowing what to expect. He might struggle his rookie year adjusting to being a role player because at Davidson he was option A, B, & C on offense. Maybe he can develop into a similar player like Barbosa was in D'Antoni's system?
I'm a little worried about his athleticism or lack thereof. He is a "point guard" but knowing D'Antoni he will be playing a lot of shooting guard. Will he be able to get his shot up? What about taking it to the basket? He has below average athleticism and a frail frame. I also wonder how well he will be able to defend at the next level.
He has a quick release and will have no trouble getting his shot off. He's not an athletic freak, but he's crafty and has perfected a loss art of moving without the ball. He knows how to use screens properly, understands the right angles to take when cutting and can create plenty of space to get an open look. Defensively he will struggle because of his size, but fortunately for him D'Antoni doesn't emphasize defense much. What's difficult to predict with this year's class is whether or not players projected in the lottery are going to be difference makers or just career role players.
