The photos that raised such a big controversy a few years ago are nothing compared to what really went on. Various investigative journalists and insiders have tried to alert the public to this fact, but now i,n an interview with the London Telegraph, Major General Antonio Taguba, the former army officer who conducted an inquiry into the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq, confirmed the details of his original army report, that the unreleased photos showed rape and sexual abuse of women and minors.

Is Obama going to do anything about this? So far he's lied, and said the pictures were not that sensational, and helped to block attempts to prosecute these guys. I really doubt he is any better than Bush.

    Here's some interviews of whistleblowers:

What makes that guy in the first interview trustworthy? To me, he sounds like he's making up half of the shit he's saying. "The foreign interpretators hated Iraqis." Why the fuck would that be? He's probably some government agent stirring up more shit.

Somehow, I knew I'd get responses like this. Denial. :sigh:

Did you watch the 2nd video, did you read interview of Major General Antonio Taguba, even the #1 field command in Iraq as admitted that we've broken the Geneva Convention rules, and well exceeded the interrogation techniques in the official army manuals. This is only a small sample of whistle blowers.

Regardless of who may be to blame, this needs to be fully dealt with. I'm all for placing a lot of pressure on prisoners for information, but this is way over the top.

Hopefully Obama stops all forms of torture (which he said he has) and prosecutes ppl involved in it in any way. We need to hold ourselves to higher standards than that.

The Bush years were just some really dark years for this country, imo (not that it was all Bush's fault, but i'm just talking about 2001-2008).

This needs to be dealt with and made sure it doesn't happen again. It should always be swiftly and strictly taken care of if/when it does happen.

Obama has a lot of work to do to clean up our image world wide right now (thank God to me he seems halfway competent in doing so and seems to be doing a good job with foreign policy in my eyes).

This has already been debunked, and the editors of the British newspapers were fired.

Red meat for the wacky left, however.

Dude, I am totally in your corner. I just don't think the first interview is reliable. By the way, I'm not even a US citizen so why would I defend a country I am not even from?

The way these prisoners were treated is abysmal and something needs to be done and I can't believe the government have turned a blind eye to it. Then again, what do you expect? I can't see any President doing anything seeing as they're the the main people behind all of this shit.

We know that abuse went on at Abu Ghraib. The pictures were released, the Muslim world was furious, and there was a big scandal. I believe the U.S. government even apologized for the behavior of some of its troops.

Now a few people want to release yet more photos and go back to the story again. Gee, I wonder why. Could it be that they're rabid leftists who hate the U.S. military and enjoy seeing our nation embarrassed?

    Hmmmm.
