I suspect he'll see less than $6.2 million.

He is one of those players that you fucking hate when he isn't on your team, but you like him when he is. I don't think he is that good and I don't think he's worth $6.2. The market, though, will obviously dictate that.

Maybe he is looking for a longer contract as well, not just a per year raise.

I see him landing in San Antonio for some reason.

This was always the plan for Varejao, a two year stint on this contract then going for a big payday on the open market. From reading articles and suchlike, it seems as though he and Fegan are aiming to get something in the region of $10m per year, and that might be hard for the Cavs to refuse, especially with the prospect of Joe Smith leaving as a UFA and Ben Wallace retiring. Varejao is one of those great hustle guys and a glue-type player for the team. I just don't think you can pay $10m a year for a "glue guy" though. At the very least I hope he goes in a sign-and-trade, or something, just so the Cavs don't lose him for nothing.

I saw that $10mill a year thing floating around elsewhere too...what the hell is he thinking? There is no way he should get that much money.

Let him move on then if he wants an 8 figure salary.
