here's a trade possibility: lets trade chris bosh, jason kapono for deng, tyrus thomas and john salmons plus the bulls 16th pick and a trade exception to make it work financially. -lets turn around and exchange the 16 th for the bucks 10th pick plus 1.5 mil cash from the JO trade and pick dejaun blair, while taking johnny flynn with our 9 th pick -in this scenario we still have cap room to resign AP and another free agent, all the while getting deeper new roster PG: Caledron, Flynn, Roko Sg: Salmons, Parker, douby, Banks SF: Deng, Filler PF: Thomas, Blair, Hump C: Bargnani, Rasho
Can't argue with too much here. Only thing is maybe grabbing another true SF in the draft instead of Blair because we have Pops, but it's still a good pick. However, I can't see much problem with this because, and especially getting Deng back. I wonder if Salmons would like to play here though because he did shut us down a few years ago.
i really think salmons choosing sac town over us had to do more with money than anything but his game is pure awesomeness. deng's injury history is worrisome and pops is a FA so his status is uncertain. and im totally in love with jonny flynn's game. i honestly think he has the potential to be a chris paul type player and ironically enough the knock again chris was that he had to work on his jumper. fyi- his combine results were off the charts!!! and here's a little a glimpse of what he can do:
Interesting ideas. I wonder about Blair's transition to NBA basketball though. I suppose Bas could give us a better idea of whether he'll be a dominant post player at the next level. FWIW, I'm praying Tyreke Evans falls to us at the 9th pick.
Blair has two problems - Height - 2 Knee Surgeries However, Blair is such a freak athlete, the height is pretty much irrelevant and the knee problems seem to be behind him. Therefore, Blair will be a very good pro. Evans could fall to us, DeRozan seems to be the one who will be there for sure. Evans could go to Minnesota at 6 and they have shown interest in him. Jrue Holiday could slide to Toronto, and could be a good option, but I am hoping for Evans as well. Also BC has said he wants another 1st and Minnesota is willing to traded any of them (6th, 18th, 27th) and most likely keep the 6th. BC should grab that 18th and draft a guy like Jeff Teague.

here's the thing: john salmons > jeff teague or derozen. plus, derozen is unpolished (raw) - he's probably going to have a gerald type career in my humble opinion. plus, blair has cut something like 50 pounds so the injury concerns might be slightly ameliorated because of that. and jonny flynn had more success in college than evans, derozen, jrue and teague combined in college.
I agree with almost all you said, I think DeRozan showed potential in the Pac-10 tournament and the Big Tournament. I think he'll be a good pro. Flynn did have more success, but Jrue did play out of position because of Darren Collison, so he had an unfair season.
I think I agree about Blair's height not being as big a problem. I looked it up and apparently he measured in with a big wingspan (which, along with jumping ability, can easily overcome a lack of height). Once you get acknowledge that we won't get a top-line prospect, I'm pretty happy sitting at 9th. Inevitably, one of the better known prospects is going to drop and I doubt we'll be in a position like 2004, where nobody on our board is left. Derozan worries me only because his lack of dribbling ability reminds me of Joey Graham. That's paranoia more than anything, but still...
It's so hard to grab a read on this draft. If Minnesota didn't show so much interest in Evans, I'd say he'd be our pick. A big benefit with DeMar is that he is coachable and will work hard for Jay. He has a ton of ? though.
this is my list.. 1. T. Evans 2. E. Clark 3. D. Derozan i dont understand how earl clark drops so much in mocks.. but i think he'll be one of the better players in this draft.. definately over derozan..
Yeah, sounds good. Though it seems we're just going to take Derozan and not make a core trade, lately.
