Definitely not. OSU is engineering oriented. UO is liberal-arts, work at fast-food joints, hippie oriented.

De Carolis is clearly not creative enough, and obviously not driven enough, to handle a job he is being paid a ridiculous amount of money to perform.

His head on a platter should be the first step to any workable solution.

Man, and there are times when I think I'm a cock. Dude, U of O is a middling state university. Let me know when you understand what real money is.

Well, I think Knight would qualify as a top tier donor, money-wise, at any school. Don't know if there are any other donors of note at U of O.

You forgot the [/sarcasm] tags on that post.

Either that, or clearly you haven't lived in or been around the state of Oregon for very long. What De Carolis has done with the athletic program in the last 10 years is very impressive.

What do ya expect from beaver fans? The players steal homo sheep for wild times and the men in the stands slide off their overalls and mount each other when the team scores.

    Go Ducks!

gonna have to agree with you there. what OSU has done with a whole lot less.. pretty darn impressive. I still think UO is a better program, but thats not a knock on OSU, what their coaching staff gets out of their lesser talent is tremendous!

Sweet. Who cares? My point is that someone from U of O thumbing their nose at OSU is a fucking joke. It's like someone driving a Taurus is laughing at someone driving a Chevy.

Where we screwed upon on our stadium was not requiring the state to buck up like UO did for their new basketball arena. That was crazy. And I used to think Frohnmayer had some class.

As for Pop, he's all talk when he can pick on OSU -- this is just another case of that. On the other hand, when the chips are down for UO, he goes school girl and hides behind his daddy's skirt.

The next thing that'll happen is that we defend ourselves from his snipe hunting and Pop'll claim we're overly defensive. Same ol', same ol'.

If we are talking about total donor base then I would agree, if we are talking strictly athletic programs then I strongly disagree, Oregon's Athletic Program (specifically the football team) is becoming more of a national presence every year and is very marketable (they use the same media marketing group as Texas, Michigan, and Tennessee). It's would hard to argue that Oregon doesn't have a combination of some of the best Sports Facilities in the country (Mac Court/Knight Arena, Autzen Stadium, PK Park, Hayward Field). It would be interesting to see total merchandising sales to compare the two schools versus the traditional powers (Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Penn State).

There was an actual vote, it wasn't like UO has some magic power over the state legislature.
