Not much different than the trolls coming over to blazer forums and throwing around the "Jailblazers" term.

I agree that its not much different. But which one of these Laker fans has come here and said that? I havent seen them say that, it would be old, and unoriginal, and uninformed. Just like the rapist comments.. yet they havent used the Jailblazer unoriginal comments.. but we use the unoriginal stuff? :dunno:

I agree with the guy who posted a few spots above this. Do you really think Kobe raped someone? I certainly don't, and pretty sure he wasn't found guilty. It's a lame attack on a guy. As someone who has been accused of something similar (sort of under similar situations), it's really frustrating and an unfair attack on someone's character.

thats my point in this. There is no reason to attack with lame unoriginal attacks (not saying you were, it was just in response to the jailblazers comment) especially when they have not been provoked with lame unoriginal attacks. That doesnt really happen here with the Laker fans.. I admit it does happen over at Lakersground.. or when trolls come to O-live (I was a mainstay in O-live for about 8 years before this place) but here I would hope that we would show the same amount of class that most Laker fans in here show. Wlcome to the site by the way.

Yeah, you don't need to call Kobe a rapist to get your point across, Kobe's playoff performances speak for themselves.

    - Iced out Shaq (and chucked the Lakers out of) the 03 Semi's
    - Iced out Shaq (and chucked the Lakers out of) the 04 Finals
    - Completely disappeared in 4th Quarter of Game 7 in the 06 first round
    - Completely disappeared in 4th Quarter of Game 1 in 08 Finals
    - Laid a huge egg in Game 4 of 08 Finals
    - Laid a huge egg in Game 6 of 08 Finals
    - Worst team loss in Finals History (close-out Game 6 / 08 Finals)
    - 36% shooting in 6 of his 9 playoff series close-out games as a starter
    - 40% shooting combined in 5 NBA Finals series

Suffice to say you'd be hard-pressed to find a player with more epic choke jobs (and monumental disappearing acts) than Kobe.

Uh that's a lie, he didn't chuck out anyone in the Spurs series when they were going for the four peat. Horry did.

28 PPG, 54 TS% against SA, and Horry went dead cold if he hits one three they win a series.

He had 20+ points at halftime in the first round in 2006, the team was down 20. Unlike other people handling the ball every possession, he tried to get his teammates involved. Everyone saying he quit on that night is reaching.

I think you're being awfully selective with some of those games, and those are team losses in bold.

Even in the Boston Series, he wasn't terrible. 51 TS%, 26 PPG, 5 APG.

He wasn't the player he is today in the first three, but at least give the complete stats dude he shoots 3's and FTs. He missed significant time and a game in his first Finals due to injury as well.
Huh? Take a look over the last two years alone, source? Kobe's been a great closer in close out games recently, I find that hard to believe. If not you're just ignoring his other positive series.

Two Bronze medals for the King? Kobe saving USA from silver? Actually LeBron has had pretty awful games in the playoffs as well. 07 Finals, worst 4 game shooting stretch against the Celtics last year. Much worse individual performance than when Kobe got "blown out" in the Finals. The team choked and got blown out, LeBron had individual games worse than that.
You just listed six questionable claims and/or team chokes. You even repeated a few.

Hmm... do you think that any other player in the NBA right now has had more opportunities to be criticized for "choking" and "disappearing" in big games than Bryant?

He has had those opportunities because he's an excellent player. Of course he's had some good teammates (including Shaq) and a great head coach, but even IF he's choked more than anyone else (and I find that highly doubtful) it's been primarily because of his own greatness.

    In the Finals:

Indiana: Twisted his ankle in game 2 against the Pacers, was never the same after that. Played 9 minutes in game 2 and had to miss game 3.

Detroit: He sucked, but he wasn't an MVP caliber player that entire year; he was below his standards the whole season.

Other than that I think he was underrated in the other series, he didn't play at nearly an all-time low in any of these "blowouts".

BTW, the real NBA Finals was against the Kings and Blazers some years. And he was solid.

Yes when you're in the playoffs that often there's a certain amount of unimpressive series. You'll never see Da O compile a list of successful conquests...

Yup, it's like that old Michael Jordan commercial, where he points out that success has given him the opportunity to miss a lot of potential game-winning shots, not just make a lot.

Ladies and gentlemen and Lakers fans, you are missing the point.

The point is not whether Kobe Bryant is a good player, or how he fared in big games, or his relationship to Shaquille O'Neal. The point is not even whether it is fair to call Kobe Bryant a rapist.

The point is we hate the Lakers. It does not matter if they are good or bad, win or lose, nice or mean. They are the Lakers. We hate them.

The point was best expressed by the late Kevin Duckworth, who said it does not matter if they play little high school boys. They are still the Lakers.

    And we still hate them.

    I'm a Laker Hater and I'm proud.

its fine to hate a team.. but liek I had mentioned in another thread in the Lakers forum.. to treat another losses as a victory to us, is the behavior of a 16 year old, and shows a losing mentality.
