Are there any good hibachi restaurants?

I've been to about 6 and the novelty wore off after the first one.
    - the food sucks (always over cooked and too salty)
    - you have to sit at a table with a bunch of strangers
    - the cooks do the same tricks
    - the cooks are usually douche bags
    - they're always over priced

If you can get a table near the teppan you can watch the show and then eat off the menu instead of getting the chopped stuff they serve. There is a place nearby where we go to get sushi sometimes. They try to separate the restaurant so you can't see the chefs from the regular tables, but some angles you can still do that.

I can't really speak for hibachi chefs, but it bugs me a little when my sushi chef is Mexican.

The Hibachi grills around where I used to live are amazing. The food is brilliant! That is why, east coast > west coast

Are you talking about the actual grills or the restaurants? I grew up with a Hibachi which I took to DC with me after college. It focused heat beautifully and kicked the crap out of any Weber, although it was 1/5 of the size.
