Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? Who should the Rockets pick? I pick Ronnie Brewer.Hes Versatile, Extremely quick, Can take you off the dribble, Excellent vision, A leader, Can get teamates open baskets, Agressive defender and is a Good rebounder at his position.People ask me why would they take Ronnie Brewer when we have Luther Head. Why? Because it's our weakest posistion. We have no one to play SG for us. Only Wesley and Brunson who are both aging and don't have a lot of offense in them. Head is excellent off the bench and can easily get us 10-15 points off the bench. He provides the offense and the defense. He can shoot, drive and steal. And if we get Ronnie we have a leader who can step up when both of our star players are out.And plus if we try to trade for a SG who would want Wesley and Brunson? We can trade Swift or Juwan for a solid PF and can get Nazr off the free agency.

Wesley has value simple because he expires. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>We can trade Swift or Juwan for a solid PF and can get Nazr off the free agency.</div>That makes sense, you swap your pf for a better pf. Who would take Juwan/Swift if they have a better pf?I think Nazr gets paid, might be out of Rockets price range. Big men just seem to get money for no reason. On draft, I think you take the best available. You have holes at sg, pg, and pf. It's hard to gauge with guys rising and falling between now and draft.
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? i think we're fine at PG.. but we need help in the PF. our SG doesn't really matter because of t-mac. our PG has rafer alston and bob sura is coming back right? i'm not even sure. but yea our weakest spot is the PF.
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? i think you go with a shooting guard, ronnie brewer. you have plenty of power fowards in juwan howard, stromile swift, ryan bowen,Maciej Lampe. they all can play a little center too. although they could draft one in the secound round (matt haryasz, justin williams)if they pick Ronnie Brewer, they have a shooting gaurd with great size. 6-7, and has the ability to play the point guard position as well. they have Luther Head that can play both positions as well. i think that would be a great backcourt in the future.Projected lineup:C-yao mingF-stromile swiftF-t-macG-brewerG-head
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? If theyre going to take a Point Forward like Brewer, why not get someone who's a winner and someone with a more well rounded game. Brewer never won at Arkansas, why not get Brandon Roy, who can play both positions, and has been in the Sweet 16 a few times. Also, Mardy Collins might be a good option. He's a very well coached, well-rounded player who can play any position from the 1-3. If I was the Rockets, I'd look at Roy or Collins before Brewer. Brewer is a good slasher, but you already have McGrady, so why not take someone who can play multiple roles.
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? This is a pretty old topic. And over the month I've been thinking Rodney Carney, Brandon Roy or Marcus Williams.
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? I would take Sheldon Williams, Yao Ming needs a big, stable defensive minded PF.
Re: Ronnie Brewer, Shelden Williams or Patrick O'Bryant? Me? I would have to say Ronnie Brewer, being an oversized SG at 6-7 that can bring defence to the Rockets is just what we need, we don't need Shelden Williams because we have a rotation of Juwan Howard, Stromile Swift, and Chuck Hayes, and thats enough PFs, we don't need Nazr because he is a center and will take too much time from Yao and Mutombo, We will just draft this SG, at SF, we do have Tracy McGrady and at times Ryan Bowen or Luther Head, PG spot is filled with Rafer Alston, Sura and maybe Mike James if we can get him as a free agent.
