Why don't we do this. Don't re-sign Outlaw, Blake, Frye, Ruffin, Randolph or Raef. That leaves us at what, 15M cap room? Then we bring over Petteri and Freeland. Take a gamble and give Bayless the keys. Worst case, we let Roy be the PG most the time and that will free up more SG time for Webster and Rudy, which I am fine with. Then we figure out a way to sign Hedo with the cap room. I would also like to try and figure out a way to get rid of Sergio, but that probably wont happen. At least he somewhat knows the offense. Then maybe draft a backup PF or trade the pick and sign a vet with MLE. Then our roster would be... Bayless\Sergio\Petteri Roy\Rudy Hedo\Batum\Webster LMA\Freeland\Draftee or Vet FA Oden\Joel If Freeland is as good as we've been hearing he is, he could at least play some backup PF, right? Share some time with the draftee or vet. What do you guys think?
Because you're gambling that we'll be able to sign the targeted player. If we don't, with your plan, we very well could miss the Playoffs.
I dont know about your plan, but I have been wondering if the solution to our backup PF is Freeland? He is already someone under contract isn't he?
Webster third SF? Umm.. no. The two answers at SF already wear Blazer jerseys. Basically, you've taken the team a step backwards with this. Bayless is in no fucking way ready to run an NBA team. Trade Freeland, Sergio, Picks and Cash for Mike Conley, with Bayless backing him up. Use some or all of whatever's left in the Cap to sign a solid backup PF like Birdman.
