    Can anyone translate this?

It seems like Gran Canaria and Unicaja (who just got knocked out of the ACB playoffs by Barcelona, and who in turn knocked Gran Canaria out) are fighting over who gets to sign him. Does this mean he knows he's not coming over here?

Um, that would suck if we don't get him.

They're in negotiations. Nothing imminent or definite it sounds. We're good. I think.

Would we get him this year anyways?

Maybe that since we know he's not coming we are moving up to make sure we get a decent backup if we aren't going vet route for pf

I don't know. It'd be nice to bring him as this year's Shavlik Randolph. The big question is whether he can give us more than Randolph? More than Frye? If you can't answer "yes" to either of those, then why do it.

I would think that Pritchard would have been on a plane by now if he was really wanting to bring this kid over now.

He's a quite different player from either. Randolph is slow and lumbering (since his injury) but skilled. Frye is slow but has (supposedly) a good jumper. Freeland is more of an energy guy, good for rebounds and blocked shots, but probably behind in bball knowledge. Sort of a poor man's Tyson Chandler.

He wouldn't need a 'plane - he's in Italy at the moment.

Still got to get to Spain man. That's a long freaking train ride. I'd take a plane.

Good. Let him stay in Spain and develop some more. He's not going to get any PT here as it stands.

Even a boat would be better than a train.

It's 1,100 miles. It's an overnight train ride in one of them super-fast ones they have there.

    Europe is not that big...

Just don't take one from Brazil. Those ocean landings can ruin your day.

At the same time, the thing most of the fans and team have been lamenting is the lack of a banger PF at the backup spot. We don't need another perimter shooter(Frye). Did Shavlick Randolph give us anything last year? I would rather have just left the roster spot open myself. It seems to me that a guy who is about energy and hustle, might be exactly what the bench could use, as long as he can play D.

With security hassles in Europe - it will be an 8 hour ordeal to fly... (unless PA gives him his own plane to fly around...)

If there is a direct train from Rome to Madrid (and I do not know - I only went from Rome to Paris by train and it was direct last time I did it) - the difference is not that big...

    Not that it matters much...

Why would it suck if we don't get a guy that hasn't done shit?
