Dallas' offense is better, and they have more guys that can score. Dirk, Jet, Howard, Stack, KVH are all easily capable of 15+ ppg, and they also have Damp, Daniels, Harris, who can score 10+ ppg easily. That's compared to Bosh, James and Mo Pete capable of scoring 15+ ppg, and CV capable of 10-12+.
CV averages 13 ppg. So that is rediculous to say he is only capable of 10-12 ppg. We have guys like Matt and Joey as well. Toronto averages 101 ppg. Dallas averages 99 ppg. You are underrating are offense serverely. It is our defense that sets us back. We are right up there with Dallas with our offense.
Dallas scores less now bc of AJ's philosophy. He wants to slow it down more and play some defense. They certainly have more offensive talent than toronto. and i said 10-12+, not 10-12. CV is too inconsistent right now.
I'm just saying man, that you can't compare Terry with the Hawks and James now because our offense is much better then the Hawks offense was..
Before you compared what Terry did with the Hawks 3 years ago and said that they were in similar situations when that is not the truth as Toronto is a top offense in the League.
I watch the Mavericks. Jason Terry is a tremendous shooter, but remember that Dirk Nowitzki and even Jerry Stackhouse draw attention, making Terry open a lot.
Mike James is not a team player. Terry is. James is a dangerous player but not passing the ball has been his weakness. Terry lets Dirk and Howard dictate the offense while James thinks he is the one. It works sometimes but other times he can hurt that Toronto team. Also he gets more minutes and is getting these stats on a bad team.

They have the ball in their hands all the time, and they draw double and triple teams. Mike James for the most part has single coverage during the game. I wasn't comparing James w/ the ATL terry. I said Terry was more talented. I was using Terry's experience in ATL to prove that being on a worse team padded both of their stats.Jet plays clutch in BIG GAMES. His team is winning. Once again, you can't be sonsidered clutch if your team almost never wins.</div>
He is 30 years old, don't give me that excuse that he's never had the chance to prove himself. He obviously has talent, thats why he's putting up the numbers he's putting up. But everywhere he's been he's been lazy and inconsistant, thats why teams have been getting rid of him.
Yeah, guys, he's played 334 of 400 games he could possibly played. If might be 334 out of 398 or 399, but not sure.
Man, CB4AS, you make a big deal out of tiny stats. Dogma said CV can get you 10-12 + a game and you said: "CV averages 13 ppg. So that is rediculous to say he is only capable of 10-12 ppg."
Terry has been very good ever since i knew he was in the nba.Terry is however inconsistent at times. He is better than mike james if you go by their careers. Mike James is doing much better than terry now though. They both are strong hearted point guards who play hard on offense and defense.Terry takes the cake though. But if it is this year i'd say james.... Someone mention contract year..... and looking at players like Jerome James, dampier and other after sign flops. I'll definitely take Terry.-note i didn't bother reading all these replies i just skimmed fast so if i repeat.. oh well
If you put Terry in Toronto i'm sure he'd be putting close to 18ppg, i'm not trying to get into some mindless debate here but Terry is a huge part of Dallas' success while James is obviously doing his best on a bad team to get the biggest contract he can get.
Jason Terry definetly. You can't count on Mike James. Although he may be beating Jason Terry on the stat line, he doesn't lead his team like Terry does, Terry is clutch. Terry is also a better defender.
Yeah Terry is a better leader and gets his team involved. You have to watch Mike James to see why he isn't a good leader as a point guard. The stats lie. Also his defense is overrated. Parker was owning him.
I'd go Terry because his numbers are almost as good as James, and he's on a better offensive team, as far as talent goes. Dirk, Howard, Stack, KVH before he got injured, and Daniels, all take shots from him. Also before comparing Terry and James apg numbers, you need to look at the team and the offense they run. Dallas as a team doesn't get many assist, but has very low TO differential, and Terry is a big part of that. Plus Dallas runs alot of pick and roll and ISO plays, so the assist aspect isn't that big a factor.I think if Terry was on a talented team that didn't run an ISO offense his assist numbers would be up, and if he was on a bad team where he was the actual 2nd scoring option his ppg would be up too.Add to that that his 3 point numbers aren't that far off James and Terry wins this debate easily.
