For Chicago it has to be Luol Deng, without a question. Hinrich is a great playmaking point guard with court awareness, and Gordon is a very accurate shooter and slasher but Deng is the most complete player on that roster. He can do it all: score, rebound, assist, steal, get to the line and more.

All of it is obvious, but these teams CAN have controversy over the issue...Charlotte: The Rookie of the Year, but injured, Emeka Okafor, or the defensive nightmare, Gerald Wallace?Detroit: With so much talent from the one to the five spot in the starting lineup, Billups DOES have competition with Rip, 'Sheed, Prince, and Defensive Player of the Year Ben Wallace.Golden State: Baron Davis AND Jason Richardson are great players without a doubt. You can say that Jason Richardson's 180-degree turn, one-legged jump, three-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Mavericks in Dallas puts J-Rich ahead, but you can say that Baron DAVIS's long two pointer at the buzzer to beat the Mavericks in Dallas (yes, two buzzer-beaters @ Dallas [IMG]) puts him ahead.Houston: Who would you rather take: A forward capable of putting up triple-doubles and going unconscious (T-Mac), but have injury problems, or have Yao Ming, a soft player who has suddenly come out firing huge double-doubles after the All-Star Break?LA Clippers: Elton Brand is definitely a double-double guy every night, but he hasn't proven himself besides in the regular season. Sam Cassell, on the other hand, is a clutch 4th quarter player, as well as a great addition in the playoffs. Who's better? You decide.New Jersey: Do you take the flashy player, Vince Carter, the less-flashy, still-good, Richard Jefferson, or the guy that puts everything all together to make New Jersey's backcourt the best in the NBA, Jason Kidd???New York Knicks: Franchise and Starbury both have similar weaknesses, and right now, whichever one has less injuries is better. Simple as that.Phoenix: The Suns only got attention in this battle after Steve Nash came. Steve Nash IS the MVP, but last season in an interview, Coach Mike D'Antoni said Shawn Marion is like the undercover, secret MVP. I think Nash is better, but it's your choice.Sacramento: Ron Artest has made Sacramento more of a winner since his arrival, but Mike Bibby, a superstar point guard, and Brad Miller, a passing center, are also competitors for the MVP on Sacramento!San Antonio: Career-wise, Tim Duncan has proven himself as an unstoppable guy, but isn't Tony Parker's efficiency and consistency something to notice? Duncan only averaged about 14 PPG in March...Seattle: ReShard Lewis still deserves a case, but since they're both shooters, find out which one is the better shooter. Ray Allen is the better shooter, meaning Ray ALLEN is the better player.Toronto: Chris Bosh IS what he is, a young gun who seems to be in check for a great career, but has anybody taken notice of Mike James's game, as well?

Why is Kidd the Nets best player? He is by far the top player with the biggest impact on the game. How many players can dominate a game without scoring? Ben Wallace..Kidd..Not too many names on that list..The difference is that Kidd creates oppurtunties for his teamattes and puts them in a position to be succesful. He plays tremendous defense on his opposition and is always looking to push the ball. He plays hard every game and his play is contagious, as the unselfishness he exhibits as the leader of this team spreads to others. Without Kidd, the Nets are a team similar to Golden State. They have talent, they have terrific players, but they dont have a leader like Kidd to put it all together and create a winner..Thats the difference between Kidd and the other PGs in this league. Not only does he create easy oppurtunities for them, he raises the level of play at which the perform on both ends and leads by example..

GArenas, Ben IS the best defender in the league, or one of the best, but Billups is more of an MVP.

Jeferson is actually an underrated shooter. He has as solid a spot up jumper as they come, and can create a midrange jumper on occasion

I dont think of either one of them as shooters. They are complete basketball players who can hit outside shots or create off the dribble whether it be for them or for teamattes. This mentality starts with Kidd and spreads to others leading to the success of the entire club.
