Interesting rankings. Probably the biggest surprise to me is the Knicks at 16. Despite their mess currently, it's still New York and they've got some good history. They're top 10 IMO.
I hate the thought they have the Jazz ranked higher than us we have had farther success in the playoffs than they did I think
They're at 52.31 points per season; we're at 51.06. He subtracted 50 points for the Jail Blazer era, which spread over 40 years is 1.25 points per season. Were it not for that, we'd be tied.
I can't believe a team with one Finals APPEARANCE (Phoenix) is #5...I know that they had some good teams, but still. Heck, the Supes had great teams in the 70's 80's, 90's, and maybe early this deacde, won a championship, and they aren't even top 10. I wonder if Hollinger took away points for the OKC sellout?
Knicks and Pistons should be higher. We should be above the 76ers (who should be much lower, lower that Detroit, who has won 3 titles). Phoenix has a long history of being good, but not great. That deserves a high spot...but 5? And I'd put us above the Jazz as well. Historically, when we were both good the Blazers beat em.
What does being back to back have to do with anything? Portland has been to 3 finals and actually won 1. How many more Conf finals do they have than us? Just wondering. The Rockets won the thing twice in a row and are below both of us. Pheonix, Utah and Portland should all be tied with the tie breaker going to Portland for winning one. ALL that being said, I think 8th is pretty fair. Love this list by the way. Always wanted to see someone do something like this.
