Yes, the guy is amazing and the most clutch player this side of Jerry West (and Brandon Roy) but if I have to read one more story about his focus, dedication, drive, will to win, etc, I think I am going to puke. Does he really want to win more than Dwight Howard, or for that matter, Rafer Alston or Trever Ariza? I think not. Guys don't get to that level without incredible dedication and drive. All of them, not just him. Gimme a break. The Onion has it right.
As with most rapists, he is mentally focused on domination of others to an extremely unhealthy degree. Disgustingly so, IMO. He's closer to Jeffrey Dahmer than he is to Michael Jordan.
He is so focused. He's like a coach out there. His the most determined players since Jordan. Oh yeah, and he is like a coach out there.
This is awesome. Maybe someday we will all find out about the dress he made of human skin that he keeps in a hidden closet.
I dont doubt at all that he is the most "driven" and/or "focused" player in the NBA today. His career is winding down and he is trying to define his legacy. As of now he is "One of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA, BUT couldnt win a championship without Shaq". He REALLY REALLY wants to change that.
His "clutchness" is exaggerated. I believe there are number that put him at 14 for 59 on shots that would either win or tie the game in the last 24 seconds over the last some odd years. Still a great player though. This has to be the worst Championship team in the last 20 years. Probably longer. Certainly the worst Lakers championship team ever. Point being, that guy dragged them there and over the line. (Along with Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson)
Best rapist I've ever seen. Maybe you guys should go out and try to sign a rapist? THere has to be some other rapist out there who can ball. It sure worked out for us.
Last night in Overtime, the first pass he had to a teammate came when he elbowed Jameer then passed to Fisher. every other time, if he touched the ball, he shot it. the L*kers are the much better team though.
Thanks for proving my point. Dwight Howard REALLY REALLY wants to be one of the greatest centers ever. Martel Webster REALLY REALLY wants to have a good year next year. Big deal, Kobe has something to prove - who doesn't? The whole storyline is such a bunch of hooey.
He also passed to Ariza who drove to the basket, KB was money in OT. Pietrus fouled him on his third J, no call though.
Kobe actually hasn't been that good in the finals. He's averaging 33 points a game, but doing it at an inefficient 51.6 TS%. Pau Gasol on the other hand is averaging nearly 20 points on an amazing 64 TS%.
Except you're wrong, and he has played well? 33/6/8, Kobe has 26+ PER for the Finals, does Pau? Pau has easily been the second dude. Pau has been living off Kobe feeds. Wow, stop trying to downplay Bryant, Pau isn't even on Kobe's level from back in the early 2000's. He's not creating offense for himself, you constantly ignore the assisted bucket stat which PER does NOT calculate correctly. 8 assists a game for Bryant, under 4 TOs. And got screwed in Game 4 and his "TS%", but the series ain't done yet anyway. He should have been 11/28 today at least, with 6 more FTs. That makes his TS% 53% right there and 27 PER.
Could he try any harder to be just like Mike? I mean I saw the commercial too....I just never would have thought I would see an NBA player literally take it so seriously... He will NEVER be like MJ...EVER...He will always be considered the little MJ wannabe that he has shown himself to be...from the ridiculous pre-practiced "looks" he gives, to his smarmy swagger, to his fake "tough guy" attitude...Seriously Kobe, you are going to take down D.Howard? More like get his punk a$$ slapped....again.... The guy is and always will be a pretender...and that is why most people generally DISLIKE him....and he earned that... He will likely earn a ring this year, but it will have more to do with ORL colossal choke jobs than anything Kobe did.....
