    Hilarious....

I have to admire Jennings Moxie....It is not like he excelled either IMO...but I do think it oulines the risk of drafting Rubio...Even if he does hit the "big" expectations of him as an NBA player, I think that is going to take him several years to reach that....

BTW...watch Jonny Flynn laughing...you know this has probably been a topic of discussion amongst many of the college PG's in this draft.....

On one hand, Jennings played against him for one game, so he has that to point to for evidence of his opinion. On the other hand, he played against him for one game.

I'm not going to base my thoughts on Rubio on Jennings' opinion.

    Ridiculous.

Rubio is a year younger and puts up much better numbers already. I love the stupidity of this quote...

"And you know, his stats? 26 minutes, and he be having like 16 points, 7 assists [inaudible] steals? Come on. Twenty-six minutes, and you have all that?"

Yeah...he does. And you don't. Brandon Jennings seems like a friggin' moron if you ask me.

I have no idea how good this guy is going to be, but I love the comments from Jennings just because it ruffles the feathers of all the people here who think that Rubio is the next John Stockton.

I think Rubio is going to be very good - but I love the comments as well. Sure makes life more interesting when these kids are not all PC and admire each other and are each other's biggest fans...

Nothing wrong with some public trash talking imho. Character is a good thing...

Jenning's insecurities are showing. So much for his European vacation making him more mature!

    My thoughts exactly.

He's putting others down to somehow make himself look better. Not gonna work.

I think it was funny. They wouldn't stop badgering him about Rubio, so he gave them a juicy quote.

Of course it's silly - in the one game they played Rubio was just coming back from injury and couldn't use one hand. DraftExpress had coverage of it:

BTW, didn't Jennings skip both the NBA Combine and the Reebock Eurocamp? Makes you wonder what he is hiding.

I have no idea what, or what not Jennings knows. However I have a friend that is a European scout who says basically the same thing. Including Rudy that makes 3 people "in the know" that say similar things.

Rudy most certainly did not say that. What he said was "He’s a very good player, but I don’t know if he is prepared to play in the NBA".

One would assume that he does not think that he would never be able to - not prepared for a very young prospect is to an extent expected. Most 18 years old players are not prepared...

    Very different from "all hype"...

Let's face it - do we know any of the other PGs in this draft are ready?

I'm not sold on Rubio. He's a long term project player. Sort of like Darko.

Well it ought to make games b\t the two of them interesting....

Look, part of this is surely bravado by Jennings, he has a history as an over cocky kid....He was baited about Rubio repeatedly, but obviously there is some envy? there....Also, as I said in my OP, it is not like he has torn it up in europe hmself...far from it....

I give him credit for speaking his mind and take the bravado with a grain of salt....what I like about Rubio is that when you watch him or read about others who have evaluated him the majority of praise about him is regarding his court vision, ability to find teamates in a position to excel....I don't read or see that with Jennings nearly as much...

If Greg Oden is ever going to excel as an NBA player, he is going to need a PG who understands and plays by that philosophy, but who also create for themself......I don't see that player on our roster....yet....Bayless maybe, I really like that he has taken it upon himself to work out with Greg, nothing but good things can come of that IMO....

    What's the big deal?

Rubio would be the perfect backup for Sergio.

Now...who is the perfect coach for that scenario?:dunno:

The Rubio hate is unwarranted. The guy is 18 and put up solid numbers in the 2nd toughest League in the world.

He is right. Rubio is 100% hype. No way he makes it.

The "2nd toughest League in the world"??! You mean the D-league? Any league not the NBA is a league of dudes wishing they were the NBA
