I see nothing wrong with what he said.. he thinks he is a better player, nothing wrong with that.

didn't Rubio also skip both the NBA Combine and the Reebock Eurocamp? Does that make you wonder what he is hiding?

:dunno: I think everyone knows what he is up to....he is trying to manipulate the process and control who drafts him. Isn't he also limiting private work-outs to select teams?

Jennings doesn't have that luxury. If he wants to go top 10, he needs to sell himself to teams.

Rubio won't work out with other top picks and won't even work out for most teams.. Actually I haven't even heard about him working out for anyone. Jennings will definitely go top 10.

Funny - here's what Jennings posted on his own blog just after the game he played against Rubio:

I'd be pretty surprised if Jennings didn't go top 10... he's pretty much a lock. Dude is top shelf athletically and will have ample opportunity to shine in the private team workouts going up against 2-3 others. Most teams have scouted him for years as he's been a top prospect in this underwhelming class for some time.

Draft Express currently has him going at 11 (as does NBADRAFT.net). They also have him rated 6th among PGs.

By all accounts he does have great speed/quickness. So does Telfair. His size is suspect (probably why he skipped the combine) and he has yet to prove he can actually QB a team against high level competition.

For the record, I don't "hate" the kid....there is nothing personal about my doubts. I just don't understand all the hype. I honestly see him as just another Telfair. Heck, Sergio had more success in Europe, and look how he turned out!

I suppose it isn't worth worrying about. Even if the Blazers do trade up, I can't imagine it would be to chase Jennings.

draftexpress isn't an NBA club. They are a free website in the business of generating hits so they vary their ratings of players regularly (just like all the draft sites do) so their users keep coming back to see the latest. I recall one of those sites had him at #3 overall less then 2 weeks ago. At the end of the day their ratings of player's draft position factors nada into actual draft position, but at least the day of the draft their ratings are their best guesses and not done purely to excite draftniks.

I've seen Jennings play and he sure didn't strike me as sub 6' alla Telfair. Dude appears to have a wide wingspan as well. I don't think his size will limit him like Sebastian's did/does... but like ST his jumper is a legit concern.

My impression of Jennings is that he's unbelievably quick, looks to score but has good to very good floor vision. He's VERY slight, though. My comparison would be a young Rafer Alston with better coaching at an early age. Total ballhog, but very talented.

I'll be the first to admit that I haven't seen Ricky play that much, but I do remember watching him in the gold medal game vs. the US. The kid played great, and I believe he was only 17 at the time. I think CP3 even gave high praise to Rubio after the game.

If you ask me, Rubio has a great chance to be an all-star in this league within a short period of time.

No way, never gonna happen. Rubio is not an all star. Never will be. He is a young Sergio with less skill. There are many many players in the NBA that have far more skill and never get to be an All-Star. No way Rubio does it.

I know very little about Rubio, but the kid is 18 years old...How long before you expect him to be an All-Star? How long did it take Kobe (who cam in the NBA at 18)...I don't remember, but I think it was 3-4 years.

If Rubio can't shoot (as they say) and gets drafted by a bad team...he probably will not make the All-Star team anytime soon.

That doesn't mean I am against drafting him, but I think you are way over-valuing him.

Wow. You must have been able to see Ricky Rubio play a ton to make that assertion. Which games did you watch? Can you give us more details of what all you've seen? I'm really interested in hearing your POV and expertise!

    Anxiously waiting,

It was less, I'm pretty sure. But he came in on a good team, and moreover one that, at the time, was pretty stacked with guards (with Eddie Jones starting ahead of him). Unless, as seems less and less likely, we trade up for him, he'll end up on a very sucky team (probably Sacramento) with as many minutes as he can handle.

    1. His non-shooting is overrated. He shoots fine from 3 and FTs
    2. How long did it take Jason Kidd?

Rubio has been on the Spanish team for years. Of course they are going to start him. Jennings is a 1st year player who is leaving the team after he uses them to skip college.

    Read the sig please.

I don't see any of our Blazers ever acting like this. Do you? He's now backtracking. I think it's safe to say that he won't be a Blazer. These actions just don't fit the personalities on the team.
