Another complete game and he improves his record to 9-1 on the year. Cy young candidate in the house. Him and Lincecum are raw.

I was about to make a thread about the G's lol. Sick series this weekend as they sweep the A's. I was at Friday's game where Lincecum shut out the A's and knocked in the first RBI to earn the W. A's have some really nice young pitchers but G's pitchers managed to clamp down enough for the offense to get the job done.

Torres and Schierholtz are producing and pushing Fred Lewis out of the rotation. That extra production from our 3rd OF is key. Still wouldn't mind adding a bat somewhere but I guess with Uribe giving us production from another corner infield spot and Torres/Schierholtz doing well in the outfield the offense could be good enough to get by with our pitching staff.

Yup. Dude has been amazing this season. Too bad the Giants want to trade him.

Him and Chad Billingsley are looking to be candidates for the NL Cy Young award.

I doubt we try for it now. He's been too good for us to give up unless we get a good ass young power hitter. Our hitting has been pretty good lately, so I doubt we do anything at the moment. And if we do trade a pitcher, it'll probably be Sanchez.

Pretty much agree. There's been rumors about us shopping him but they wouldn't do it right now. The club is desperate to fill the seats at AT&T and pimping him as an All-Star/All-Star starter/Cy Young Candidate will help them do that. Plus they want this team to compete for the Wild Card bid down the stretch which ought to add more tickets.

I bet they'll get some really good offers at the trade deadline from teams desperate for good pitching but would the Giants take an offer of good prospects for him? Value-wise we could get a really good deal but it could be a PR/ticket sales disaster if they trade off a guy who just turned into an all-star/Cy Young candidate for guys who most fans have never heard of and won't hear of for a few years.

Sanchez won't get us back anything better than what we already have. If we've got a guy ready to fill in that 5 spot who's as good or better I wouldn't mind moving Sanchez for a decent bat (maybe a replacement backup utility guy to replace Aurilia) but hes not gonna net anything that will really bring this team to the next level. I've heard Nick Johnson could be had for relatively cheap- maybe Sanchez and a shitty prospect or even just a good bull pen guy then move Sanchez to the pen. Again though, hes an aging stop gap guy and it would force us to move Uribe to the bench despite the fact that hes hitting 290-300. We could have Uribe replace Burriss but that would drasitcally hurt our team speed and I dunno how he'd do at SS defensively.

No way. Cain is younger than Lincecum.

The Giants aren't trading Cain no chance. I really wish the Giants would make an effort building around the arms of Lincecum & Cain. Two dominant starting pitchers is a formula for post season success. The Giants need some offense and better defense to back these guys up.
