Im sure most you have seen this (many times) but I like to watch it about once a week to remind myself of how much fun this last season was.

If there's proof of "letting the cake bake", this is it.

We have pretty much all the pieces. We may not win it all next year, but we are still very YOUNG. If this team stays together they will be championship contenders year in and year out.

You should never play to build. You should always play to win. You just never know when someone could get hurt seriously, or whatever. In theory the pieces are there, but in reality, Oden might always be injured, in foul trouble and never develop any offensive game. Roy could go down for good on his two piss poor legs. Bayless and batum might never develop.

I don't think any or all of those will happen, but they certainly all could.

I think if you ask Celtic fans they will probably all tell you that they didn't expect Len Bias to be dead a day after they drafted him.

It absolutely looks bright. But there are pieces that aren't necessary. The players that will bring us a title are Roy, Aldridge and Oden. Everyone else is replacable in reality. I mean I love Batum and Bayless, but if you can get an upgrade you do it because not doing it thinking they will be better someday is foolish. I am not talking about trading Bayless and Batum for someone like Kidd who is on his last legs either.

Interesting how you don't put Rudy in that group. Are you not a fan? I think he is one of those special players that comes along not very often. (see Ginobli) He has a way of changing the way the game is played. He has down sides also, but I think he will be a key to us takeing the next step I believe.

I love Rudy, but in reality he plays the same possition as our best player. If someone like him is the difference in adding a player like Williams or Paul the you trade him though.

I am looking at things as a realist, and not as a fan.
