Iranian Militia Killing Protestors in Azadi Square

First link I can find listing casualties. Apparently more are dead now, and the militia is spraying a massive crowd (1-2 million) with machine gun rounds.

I'm glad the mullahs are finally getting their own taste of revolution. The Shah deserved to be overthrown, but the Iranian people deserve better than the theocracy that took its place. God bless those people who are risking their lives for their right to self determination. I wonder how many Americans would do the same?

 

I think we're now seeing why democracy is being so fiercely contested in Iraq. There's nothing more threatening to a dictatorship than to have its neighbor turn to democracy. Freedom is like a virus. Here's hoping it spreads across the Middle East.

 

Slowly, but surely. As long as we give these homegrown movements the time that they need, instead of stifling them by getting all "interventioney."
