Yeah, and remember, we aren't facing Kobe, so I don't even know whoever brought this up BROUGHT it up in the first place, you know?I think we should be concerned about Elton Brand. Who should guard him?One thing I do know for sure, though. Elton CAN play defense, but is nowhere near being able to handle Dirk. They also have Kaman, but he can't do much!

We do need Griffin, he has been an intricate and important part of our team. His defense is good, maybe not shutdown, but good enough, his rebounding is above par, and one thing that gets overlooked is his offenisve effeciancy...which is very underrated, IMO.

He's been in the league for how many years. He better be able to hit those. I do like his drives and his ability to bang smaller guards for easy layups. But a lot of his opportunities come off because guys don't guard him.

Good point. It makes it harder for everyone else to score when Griffin is in the game because teams choose to leave him open.

I added that just to make people see the innocent part of me, lolz...Anyway, we NEED Griffin. His open jumpshot is a HIGH-percentage shot, and I remember once specific of this.Griffin was cooking against Sacramento (the first game of the series, the one Dallas won), and was SO open, they decided to put pressure on Griffin, that Dirk was found a three over Brad Miller.

Kemp update. Pretty good little paragraphs, but neither seem to sound like were gonna sign Kemp, or atleast anyone<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shawn Kemp was scheduled to work out for coach Avery Johnson today while Johnson is enjoying a day with his family in Houston since the Mavericks had no practice Wednesday. This follows a workout by George Lynch earlier this week. Christian Laettner also is on the list of prospects. Kemp hasn't played in the NBA since the 2003-03 season. Since the, he's gone through an assortment of problems, including his weight bloating to well over 300 pounds. "Shawn would be a proven NBA player at absolutley no risk to the Mavericks" said Tony Dutt, long-time agent for Kemp who also was Johnson's agent during his playing days.</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Mavericks still are negotiating with the NBA about getting a medical roster exception for a 16th player. But even if the get it, they might not use it. There's a chance the team will bring in a couple of players to work out, just to see if a suprise falls in their lap. Most likely, hower they are going to stick with the 15 players they have, meaning Josh Powell would become at least a part-time rotation player.</div>

I'd rather see Mbenga or Powell in. Kemp is done. If we should go after anyone I would suggest Kareem Rush.

Kemp is done....yea so is Van Horn, for the rest of the season/playoffs. It wouldnt hurt Mavs if Kemp comes. Kareem Rush is good, but im sure he's looking at a team that would take him for more than just the rest of the season. Plus does he fit our PF needs? He's always been 2/3 material to me

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Well it would be nice for Dallas to have another 3 point shooter. Dallas is fine at the PF position.

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Where the f would Rush play? Stackhouse/Daniels/Harris/Griffin/Rawle/Terry/Howard all can play the swing positions, while at pf we have Dirk/Powell/Benga. And Benga isn't even a pf. That's a joke man.

Rok, Benga and Dampier were subed in at the same time once. Benga at PF, but Benga would never play rotation at PF. I forgot which game it was, but it was eaither a blow out or Mavs were loosing big, thats why

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Watching Benga, he's a center, he can probably play minimal minutes at the pf, but he shouldn't be relied on there. Just like you said, it came in a blowout, probably experimenting.

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Mbenga is super quick for a center. Why can't he play power forward? It might actually protect him from getting into foul trouble with a second shot blocker in Diop or Dampier. Anyways Powell is the man. Rush would be needed for another 3 point threat. I would like to see a lineup of Harris, Rush, and Howard at the same time and have Terry as a 6th man but Avery probably won't do that this late in the season.

Yeah, Mbenga runs like a guard. I think him and Dirk could make a nice combo, actually.

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

if we took rush we would have to leave off mbenga or powell. i just dont think it would happen. plus he would take time from daniels, stackhouse, terry, and howard. all players that are better than him.

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Yeah individually they are better than Rush but Dallas needs a shooter at the 2 guard. I guess Terry at the 2 is better than Rush at the 2 if we decide to start Harris.

Yeah, but that's still too risky. I'd rather keep the same contending lineup.

    Re: Kemp to Mavericks!?

Ok on Rush, he just got cut by the Bobcats for being lazy and uninterested. So why would Avery want a player like that? Also, our need for a shooter is nothing when were already filled with better players at the wing positions. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Mbenga is super quick for a center. It's the same reason I don't want to see Damp and Diop on the floor at the same time.
