<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Detroit?s Rasheed Wallace SuspendedNEW YORK, April 3, 2006 -- Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace has received an automatic one game suspension without pay after receiving his 16th technical of the 2005-06 season, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations. This season the NBA instituted a progressive technical foul schedule that applies to players and coaches. A player or coach receives an automatic one-game suspension after receiving his 16th technical foul. Every other technical foul beyond 16 (18, 20, 22, ect.) will also result in a one-game suspension without pay.Wallace received his most recent technical foul with 3:26 remaining in the third period of yesterday?s 109-102 win over the visiting Phoenix Suns. Wallace will serve his suspension on Tuesday when the Pistons host the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.</div>This ends the pistons streak of the same lineup. McDyess will most likely take his place as a starter. Sheed has to keep his mouth shut for the rest of the season.
This is a BS rule and should not be the factor to ending a record like this. The NBA is a screwed up league that goes around suspending players for techs even thought most of sheeds techs are from his reputation and not what he does at the time. Like when he laughed at a player and just saying one or two words. Now because of this, the pistons amazing record is going to end and this could also affect the way homecourt is decided for the finals. I also find it kind of ammusing that this rule is put in the year after the pistons have made the finals 2 times in a row and almost won it twice in a row. This is the same <Censored> that happended after the 1989-90 season when the pistons won their 2nd title. The league is very biased against detroit and it shows in the rules they make up.

Sheed is a big reason the rule started. Why he got the "T" on Sunday:Sheed is talking to the Ref about a call that Sheed doesn't think was right and the Ref says, "Sorry, I didn't see that."Sheed then replies, "Yeah, that is what you allways say."That right there will get you a "T"The reason the Technical foul was made was so that the Refs can control the game and the players will respect the refs without delaying games or trying to intimidate the refs. It gives the refs more control of the situations. Now, the Techincal is useless when it comes to Sheed. What is the point of a "T" if players (like Sheed) don't seem to care if they get one?I do think that sometimes Sheed gets called for technicals because of his past, but that stereotype of him is his fault, and he hasn't done much to change that view.I think the rule is a good one. Otherwise what is the point of Techincal fouls if it doesn't help control some players?Sheed should have been more careful and not have been so loose with his mouth knowing what was at stake. The NBA didn't ruin the Piston's record, Sheed did.

I think its a great rule i mean come on how the <Censored> do you get 16 technical fouls.

He also needs to shave.</div>Wow. Yea 16 is crazy. Wait. Who is second in the league? Kobe. No one talks about that enough. Sheed has 16, Kobe has 14. Unless you watch the games on a regular basis, you wouldn't know about some of the rediculous technicals called on Sheed. It could be the beginning of the game and he could mildly argue and he will get a useless tech. If and when Kobe gets his 16th Laker fans will be all over calling this suspension rule BS.
I will give Sheed credit, one time I was watching a game and he got a foul called on him (I don't think it was really a foul), anyways, he looked at the ref and smiled and they "T"ed him up.
^ That is an example. In a game vs. the Cavs, Rasheed fouled Big Z. Z was busted open and bleeding. The next day we were at the Cavs, Z shoved Rasheed to kinda pay him back and Sheed laughed at Z. Didn't say anything to the refs, nothing to start a fight, just laughed. They gave him a technical foul, for laughing. Yes. They did recind it, but that is an example. How is that not an anti-Sheed call? Maybe it is just us Piston fans. We must all be blind to reality that Rasheed really is getting at the refs, which I admit he does some times. But other times, it IS the refs and that is a fact.
That's a stupid technical foul. only thing i didnt like is sheed hit Z. his Ts are fine i dont care but hitting good players because they are playing good D against them or just because they are foreign, etc, isnt right. anyways technicals are the gayest thing since elton john. Sheed said "yeah thats how you always see that" woww who gives a crap. kobe has 14 T's. wow its for no reason & it aint a big deal
you idoits im not saying this a rule made just for the pistons but it does seem kind of fishy that the pistons are sucessful and they are also getting a rep for complaining that the league decides once again to put in a rule that affects the pistons. in 90 they added rules that helped the showtime players like MJ and hurt teams who played hard defense like Detroit and Boston. A couple of years ago when the pistons were setting all those defensive records the next year the league sets a more restriced rule on hand checking....that is 3 examples of times the league has changed a rule and the next year it directly affects the Pistons. And this rule is bull <Censored>. I mean people who bought tickets for the game tomorrow went to go see the pistons play. And if you suspend one of the crowed favorites then you can not go and see your pistons play. If they would hold everyone under the same standard and not have rep. techs then this rule would be just fine but they dont do that so it then becomes a BS rule.
Rasheed knew the rules and did it anyway, it's his fault not the NBA's. The Pistons will sell out regardless, give me a break. Your making a mountain out of rabbit turd, settle down.Your saying they made this rule for the Pistons? Why would the league make this rule just to kick Rasheed out of ONE game?
It is the truth that Rasheed gets reputation calls. Which should not be the case, and is not fair to Rasheed at all. If anyone else said what Sheed said on the game against Pheonix, they wouldn't have gotten a T.Here is what he said exactly:After Ben got fouled very hard going to the basket for a reverse lay up, everyone got up and helped ben, who got up slowly from the hit. Rasheed, and Chauncey were just telling the ref that they though that that should've been a flagrant. Ref: I didn't see it, it isn't my call.Sheed: Yea, thats what you always say.Ref: T!...now tell me thats not <Censored>?There are certain referees in the NBA who, to me, seem like they have some kind of personal vendetta against sheed. I'll name a few: Steve Javie, <Censored> Bavetta, Crawford (forgot his first name) - and just the fact that I know these guys names is sad, because fans shouldnt be able to tell that this certain reff is disturbing a flow of a game. It's said it has to be this way, I'm just hoping these refs don't mess up the playoffs for the Pistons. Rasheed btw will serve his one game suspension, and Dale Davis will most likely start in his spot because McDyess does not want to screw up the rotation.
That was some bull. On the play that he got the technical Ben got totally raped. He was just defending his own teamate. Anyways we took it to the Suns and Sheed's only suspended for a Hornets game so I'm not to worried.
