http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/59918/20090619/nets_offering_harris_for_2nd_pick/ Harris is available. Yes, the article says they would part ways with him for the 2nd pick. Yes, we do not have the 2nd pick. But we have KP. So that doesn't mean we don't have a way to get Harris. I don't know how, not going to even try to figure it out. But do all the Harris lovers from last year still think he would be a good fit on the team? Where is KingSpeed lol he will love this.
He's a pretty good defender and is great at getting to the line, but I'm not sure that his ability to run a team and make plays for others would mix well with our team. He'd be an interesting addition, but I wouldn't sell the farm for him.
I would give Rudy/Bayless and Outlaw with some picks thrown in as well as rights to some of our overseas guys. He would be absolutely ideal. If we can work a 3way, I just don't know if we have the stuff Memphis would prefer. Maybe involve Phoenix to involve Amare going to Memphis or something.
I was thinking the same thing, though I tend to think the rights to Freeland and Petteri are kind of overblown
Rod Thorn knows how to drive a hard bargain ... I'm guessing he's going to ask for quite a lot for Harris.
I'm sure, but i think the target is to shed salary for LeBron while picking up a high potential player at the same position, Rubio. This HAS to be a 3 or 4 team deal if Portland wants to get in on Harris.
My guess is Griffin. I think Thorn believes he can use #2 and some other assets to get #1. Remember, NJ is all about next off season. I honestly think everyone on their roster, including Lopez is tradable if thet think they can get more cap space. I think that is the reason why Vince Carter was rumored to be obtainable for nothing more than an expiring contract and some picks. Griffin and James is a decent starting point. Those two surrounded by mediocre talent is probably better than what's in Cleveland now. No matter who the coach is he is better than that over rated Brown
If Harris is on the table, I would imagine that's a great return for the Nets. I think the Blazers must deal with Memphis more than NJ. We've got to figure out how to please Memphis into giving the 2nd pick for essentially our players, with Harris coming to us. I would guess Outlaw and Rudy is a good start perhaps to pleasing Memphis, but getting a big man is probably the Grizz's first priority if they trade the pick.
Wrong questions..... Does Memphis want Josh Smith? And what does ATL want for Josh Smith? If the answer to question #1 is YES, and Pritchard can satisfy what ATL wants in question #2, well then "Merlin's" little prediction about POR acquiring a high lottery pick for another team suddenly may be coming into focus....
Merlin is a douche bag and has zero credibility. Who would trust an old man who dresses up in stupid costumes and makes terrible predictions?
Bayless/Fernandez/Outlaw/draft picks is a solid offer. Harris/Roy would be the best young backcourt in the League.
Talent wise, it's good but all those players would be backups on Memphis as of now. Bayless behind Conley, Rudy behind Mayo, and Outlaw might start but I would think they would upgrade their 4 position. I think it would take trading those players to another team, maybe Phoenix to get Amare there and then get the 2nd pick to NJ and take Harris for ourselves.
