    Vermaelen's €12-million transfer fee has surprised a lot of experts, who think the price tag is exorbitant. He is the second-most expensive Belgian player in history behind Marouane Fellaini.

    Vermaelen is able to play in the middle or at left back, leading some to speculate he'll immediately enter a fight with Kieran Gibbs for minutes.

    It seems Voyeur is willing to throw some money around this summer but once again the prerequisite is youth, not accomplishment.
