So, that's the short list, huh? I think most Raps fans would've guessed those were the guys.

If we skip DeRozan, I'd like to grab another pick (#16 maybe) and get Williams there while grabbing Flynn at 9

i think he was referring to colangelo's affinity for athletically challenged players.

dont know if you have watched the kid play but he is like what jim kelley (director scout of raptors or w/e his role with the raps) reminds me a little bit of paul pierce.

dude is rugged, tough, long, can defend, attacks the basket and has a decent jumpshot.

derozen to me will eventually be a jumpshooter in the league. we all remember the heartaches we've hard over jumpshooters that are relunctant to drive or even dont have efficient handles to get there. (people drool over athleticism, but if you can go back in time and redraft the 1998.. would you still go for vince or paul pierce? knowing their history..)

not saying derozen will go down as VC or james johnson as pp.. but i would similar roads..

i could be wrong but earl clark and james johnson will be better pro's then derozen.

First off, Jim Kelly should just stay away from drafts, he seems to fuck them up, all the time.

Second, Johnson at 9? With guys like Holiday, DeMar and Flynn on the board? I think grabbing Johnson with a later pick is fine, but not 9. Also Johnson as a large tendency to just disappear and is not that great a defender.

I've seen him play and I was much more impressed with Aminu and Teague.

I think we need to go elsewhere at 9.

I'll admit I like Johnson though, if we grab that 2nd 1st in the middle round, him and T-Will are my choices, especially if Lawson, Flynn And Holiday are gone.

if we could grab a second pick- i would select terrance williams because his game could be transformed into that of a defensive stopper and that would compliment our offensively minded team well.

Well I wanna say Hump + Cash but I dunno if teams like Chicago, Minnesota or Atlanta would take that.

First off, check the draft history, the Raptors have been pretty decent over the years. They stack up evenly with most of the NBA, if not favourably.

Second, Colangelo himself is a pretty good drafter.

Third, Memphis has been working guys out below their pick and may be interested in trading down to some team wanting Rubio. Could be us.

I agree Raps have been good with the draft but from watching those behind the draft things and other things in the press,I just am not comfortable with Kelly. Luckily BC does draft very well, and especially in the 9th spot in the past so we'll see here.

I'm iffy on the Memphis thing, If we grabbed 2, maybe getting Harden would be better, I dunno, never really thought of it

Now, take this how you want but I thought I'd post this here.

According to someone who was listening to the Fan 590, they heard Eric Smith say that an agent of a Top5 Prospect has contacted BC to try and move up and draft his client, I haven't gotten any info on who the agent is but I feel it's either Rubio's agent or James Harden's.

Take for what you want, doubt it's true but slow Raptors news day so.

Thanks for the update, Bas. If an agent's asking for Toronto to specifically move up, you'd have to think it's Rubio. To every other prospect we're just another NBA team. But to Rubio, we're a haven for European crossovers, with one of his Spanish national teammates on the roster.

Though I'd prefer it to be Harden, I agree it's probably Rubio. Also In that interview, apparently the likelihood of grabbing another pick is unlikely because of a high price.
