Anybody else feel like the word douche has become worn out? It doesn't possess the same "pizzazz!" that it used to.

Since when did the NYPD salary go up? I remember during the period where you would attend the academy, you'd get paid around $25,000, and now apparently it went up to $43,000? Am I missing something?
