Suppose you could get one and only one of Rondo or Rubio. Which would you want?

(Got to get all my Rubio obsessing out of the way before he's drafted by Sacramento. But I've been a huge Rondo fan since his rookie year, so I'm not promising to give that up.)

Rondo as a basketball player - but you have to wonder why Boston is really interested in trading him... Could be trouble if the rumors are true.

Yeah. But he's not the usual cancerous headcase - it's not like he shoots too much and doesn't pass or try hard on defense. Is he just a Gary Payton type? And (I hesitate mightily to make this comparison) it's not like Kobe's teammates exactly love him, do they?

Good thought on the Glove comparison.. and remember Nate coached and played with the Glove, he even suspended him if I remember right, he can handle a GP type.

Rondo if he is available. The kid is pretty damn good.

I kind of believe Rubio's ceiling is somewhere near where Rondo is right now.

Bayless would be awesome as the 3rd guard in a 3 guard rotation of Rondo, Roy and Bayless.

Wow, and I thought I was down on Rubio.

I can't believe that people would take Bayless over either Rondo or Rubio.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Same cost for either player? Assuming Pritchard and staff were sanguine about any "personality issues" with Rondo (I can't see any other reason Boston would be willing to deal him), I'd rather have Rondo. He brings certainty and is still very young. My optimistic projection for Rubio is a Rondo-level player.

If there were any serious concerns about how Rondo would fit in with the team, then Rubio.

As much as I like Rubio, I gotta go with Rondo.

Rondo. He's scary good considering his limitations and age. Rubio might surpass him eventually, but I'm ok with getting an A player for 10 years rather than an A+ player for a little longer.

Rondo is a beast. It also seems like that entire Celtics lockerroom is a bit dysfunctional as well (remember KG making Big Baby cry?) so I'm not going to brand him as a "cancer" this far into his young career.

The funny thing with Rondo is, everything was AOK when the team was winning. They slip up this year with injuries and suddenly he's the problem... I've felt all along that KG is the type of player that is everyone's best friend when things are going well, but a terrible teammate when the losing kicks in. He's way too intense to deal with failure. I suspect that's the true root of the problem, not anything with Rondo.

Serious? It's been widely reported lately and is the underlying assumption of this thread.

    Rondo.

He is a now player AND a future player.

Can't beat that combination with a stick.

Though if Rondo is difficult as rumoured, we may have to beat him with a stick. But, whatever.
