    Spurs-Nets, or Spurs-Bucks?

It's still a rumour. But it sounds like it's gonna happen.

Huge pickup for San Antonio... and Milwaukee continues to prove that they aren't going anywhere.

Bowen and Oberto each have non-guaranteed deals. Milwaukee can waive each of them, and take on only 3.9 in salary from the two of them. Thomas is 3.8 for next year. Total of 7.7 between the 3 of them. Jefferson was at 14.2. Saves them a good 6.5 million to spend on Sessions and/or Villanueva.

Of course, makes their trade of Yi for Jefferson last year look stupid. What a garbage organization they are. Always kind of running in place, it seems.

Who cares, Jefferson isn't an upgrade for us. No way a defensive minded player who can score as well would be a good fit for us.

KP better make things happen this summer, or we are going to get lapped so to speak.

The Spurs are trying to play out the string of a championship window. But maybe this will do it if Parker stays.

Hope this doesn't hurt our chances of landing Sessions (if we'll go after him).

On a side note, Bruce Bowen anyone? He will more than likely be waived by the Bucks. He would be a great fit for us.

This also means bye bye to any Ramon Sessions fantasies some of you may have had

If this goes through, the Spurs just got better than Portland in 2010.

If this trade goes through, we might have to forget about getting Ramon Sessions.

If the Spurs want him, he must be a worthless bum. Everybody knows how lousy they are at evaluating talent! :bgrin:

Re: Spurs nets trade Jefferson to spurs

It probably meant that Jefferson was widely available at the trade deadline for RLEC as well. But I don't think he was the right fit for us anyway.

It just hurts to see a Western Conference contender get stronger. Damn you Milwaukee... you might as well be Memphis and Chris Wallace.

Good chance you are right. But it also means, probably, one more PG left on the draft board with a chance we can trade up to get someone like Ty Lawson.

Re: Spurs nets trade Jefferson to spurs

Actually if you think about it, if what I think is going to happen (All of the players they receive retire) then this gives them the money to resign Sessions and Villenuevea. So in a way, it will keep their franchise from imploding completely.

    Spurs stole Jefferson

Then again Bucks need more money and all three expire next year IIRC.

Re: Spurs nets trade Jefferson to spurs

Why does this kill our chances of getting Sessions? If the salaries match, then the Bucks are still going to go over the cap if somebody signs Sessions to a big offer sheet, and they won't do that. The only way it would clear space for them RIGHT NOW is if somebody's contract isn't guaranteed? Is that right?

If it is, then I guess they do want to sign Sessions. Good. Now they don't need their draft pick...
