how do we get Kirk and still have enough cap space to sign Hedo and enough spare parts to get Blair?

Trading Blake and Travis for Hinrich is really close to a wash salary wise for next year.
Trading Sergio to NY for a TPE clears his salary, and renouncing Frye, Koponen and Freeland could free up enough to get Hedo. (right about 10 mil) It also might leave enough to buy up in the first round and get Blair. It's certainly not anywhere close to unachievable. Maybe the Blair part, but it depends on what you can sign Hedo for.

Hahaha at slight upgrade. You are absolutely fooling yourself if you think Hinrich is only a slight upgrade. His offense is a slight upgrade, but Kirk Hinrich is one of the better one on one defenders in the NBA, while Steve Blake is arguably one of the worst.

Cost? Blake and Travis is too much for Hinrich?

A little less than $9m per if you actually look at his salary - and he is a blake clone on offense - but a big upgrade on defense.

Not a bad way to upgrade the team on the area of biggest concern - perimeter defense.

    Clone is not accurate.

Hinrich is easily twice the defensive player Blake is.

They both came into the league the same year, but Hinrich has 3 times as many FT attempts as Blake does.

His salary actually decreases each year.

    2009 - 9.5
    2010 - 9.0
    2011 - 8.0

    Starters:
    Blake
    Roy
    Batum
    LA
    Oden

    Main Bench:
    Bayless
    Outlaw
    Joel

I have no clue about the rest of the team, other then they won't play much.

And yes, I don't believe KP will do anything of consequence this off season.

I'm with you about trading Martell, but I'm not sure there will be many takers for a guy with some money owed to him who can't get cleared by the Dr's to play.

This is kind of what I'm thinking, although I think we'd be better off with Outlaw gone.

I have never wanted to be wrong more in my life. I just don't see any reason for optimism here.

The exact same lineup that went into the season last year is my prediction. Even down to Martell being hurt, and Batum starting.
