That's $10.24M in salary. I would imagine it's for either Caron Butler (highly doubt they'd accept that) or a contract and the #5.

    How does "could" = "offer"?

That would be enough in salary also to get Jamison and the #5. I highly doubt we'd keep Jamison though. He would be sent packing somewhere else.

Do you want to discuss what "could" be happening or do you want to harp on me for being excited that something realistic has surfaced and didn't put "could" in my thread title?

It does read "or" Jerryd Bayless and not "and" Jerryd Bayless. Not a combo offer.

I just realized the blurb says Blake, Bayless, or Outlaw. Guess I missed out on a few key words in that sentence.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think the "or" is significant (an exclusive or). I think the blurb is saying Portland could part with any of them, not that it must be only one. All of them could be parted with, which doesn't tell us if it would be a combination or a single player.

I'm sure that the #5 is at the heart of the deal, at least from the Blazer's perspective. Bayless for #5 isn't enough.

Blake & Bayless for #5 and either Thomas, James, or Haywood.

Outlaw & Bayless for #5 and either Thomas, James, or Haywood.

If Minnesota offers them Mike Miller for #5 and a bad contract, they should take that. They'd be paying luxury tax though, and a lot of it.

If they're wanting to shed money, Portland can help them do that.

It's deffinately exciting, but "could" is a major part of that article.

Blazers trade for Chris Paul. Now that's exciting.

Blazers talk trade for Chirs Paul. Only one word, but kinda important.

Portland is probably their best option to trade with for shedding money.

Do you think that purely because of salary? Because I would remind you the Blazers are going to be hitting the stage where players hungry for a ring at the end of their career will come spend a year or two here just pursuing that. Jamison is prime for that, and he would be a guy who could play SF or PF. I can guarantee he is a better SF than anybody we have on the team now, by far. He would be a major upgrade in my book.

    Portland and Washington

    Portland and Phoenix

    Phoenix and Washington

    That's an interesting circle

Hopefully it won't end up being a circle jerk, althugh I wouldn't be surprised.

Hmm. No, the salary didn't really enter the equation for me. I've always found him too slow at the 3. At least that's my impression. I went and checked and although the majority of his minutes are at the 4 for Washington, he produced very well at the 3 too. He's a fantastic rebounder. He's got a nose for that.

I see what you're saying though. Subtract Outlaw and give Jamison that same role, assuming he'll accept it, and we'd be far better off.

    You might have something there.
