Not exactly groundbreaking news...but it's nice to hear something Blazers related.

    Blair would be my bet.

I would not mind him - but I do not think Psycho-T will be bad either - he is a much better shooter and with much less injury concerns... - so either would be great, in my mind.

Lawson would be a great 3rd PG with the hope that either him or JB will be able to be, eventually, a starter instead of Blake.

If all we do is obtain a late lottery pick in a weak ass draft I am going to be disapointed in KP.

Get with it KP! Too bad Sergio's value is so damn low.

I think you're going to be disappointed regardless. You want Hedo/Hinrich/Blair all in one off-season. I don't know how realistic that is. Could happen, but counting on it is probably going to lead you to disappointment.

They might be looking at a situation where they are comfortable getting a pick within that range for a certain player if they fall that far down the board. There are several players in that range that could be useful, and there is always the possibility of the dreaded "slide". It seems KP's big thing last year was to pick up whoever slid. He did, and now he is back for more. The great things about guys that slide, is that besides the wonderful example of Qyntel Woods, most of them have an axe to grind for sliding and work reallyhard. So it can work out.

No Ty Lawson please. As Ben Golliver of Blazers' Edge mentioned:

I have also heard that Lawson only works in an uptempo game.

If we're targeting a "slider" that can only mean one thing:

Although he's maybe better suited for an uptempo game, I think having a good shooter, and a guy who can penetrate could work with us.

No, regardless of names, I will be happy if the Blazers get a starter. Not getting one is a failure I think. Blake and Batum both need to be upgraded as starters.

Well you have to look at it as taking advantage of his speed though. Lawson is usually the fastest guy on the court for the most part. He tested extremely fast in the combines. What is better to do with your speed then cover free throw line to free throw line quickly to put the presure on the defense? I don't buy that he was all fast break. But he got them a hell of a lot of transition buckets too. To me his thing was just not letting the defense set. Tyler Hansborough said with the ball in his hand a lot of the time they didn't have to run a play because the defense would be on it's heels from his speed. They would get a transition bucket and get back on D.

Alright, I can agree with that. I think Batum/Webster is enough, but if we want to contend, Blake can't be the starter. I think if we don't upgrade there, we better be assuming Bayless/new PG is going to take over Blake's spot during the season.

Why no uptempo 2nd unit? - with a fast PG that can actually defend - so the bigs do not get into so much foul trouble and are not out of position to rebound to start the break?

The idea of a fast and slow unit is a good one - we did not have the personal to implement it with Sergio running the PG in the 2nd unit - because a fast-break team needs to be able to get rebounds and this is hard to do when the bigs are out of position switching to cover for the PG playing OLE defense.

At the late lottery, unless you luck into a John Stockton - you are not going to get a starting PG - so Ty Lawson as a backup PG on a fast unit anchored by Joel with Rudy, Travis or Batum or Webster on the wing and whoever plays PF - would not be a bad thing...

Lawson sounds pretty good to me- some decent defense and ability- but it does create a logjam at the point- unless we are ready to give up on both sergio and bayless.
