I don't know if putting Raja Bell next to Jax and Randolph is the best thing. Technicals galore! This team would be the badboys of the 2010s. They might as well go get Sheed while they're at it.

Hell No!! I have way too much hope for Belinelli to trade him for a used-to-be defensive stopper

The only conclusion I can come up with is the Warriors save about $4.5M in 2010 and free up the logjam at those positions. Maybe it means Nellie convinced Crawford to opt out of his deal? Or maybe it means the Warriors are drafting another wing player?

WarriorFan is spot on, Raja Bell hasn't been an elite perimeter defender for the past two seasons. He's clearly on the downside of his career.

Damn, why couldn't the Warriors pull off the deal with the Wolves that the Wizards just did. Miller/Foye for a bunch of contracts and a draft pick basically that will turn out to be Thabeet or something.

Definitely don't want any part of Raja Bell at this point in his career. I rather give more time to Morrow and Buike. If we want a veteran presence, hire a coach.

Which part do you want the Warriors to be on? The Wolves adding a pick, or the Wizards who added Miller and Foye?

Yeah this trade sounds pointless, and Morrow is someone that could use the extra minutes.

I'd want to be the Wizards. Why you ask? Well, the Wizards got rid of Thomas, Songaila, and Pechorov plus adding their pick in exchange for Miller and Foye. Miller and Foye aren't bad players, but the real deal is for their $12 million in expiring contracts. I would have totally given up Crawford or Maggette plus a young guy or two and the draft pick for that deal.

I don't have any reason why we should make this deal. We are losing age, offense including outside shooting (both Azubuike and Marco shoots better % including 3), rebound, potential and athleticism for probably slightly better defense, which will fade rapidly. And, it's not like we are saving tons of money, and we will not have any caproom to utilize for 2010.

I guess this is like a test for Rowell-Riley regime to see if they can at least think with some sort of logic. Considering how Rowell handled Jackson's extension, I am not too confident, but...

Check out this potential deal for the #2 pick in the draft. Knicks trade QRich & Cash for Darko & #2 pick.

Surely the Warriors can trump that for the #2?

I thought a team can only give cash up to 3 mils, not 3 billions. Either that or Thomas is still controlling NY...

Yes $3M is correct. I'm not sure how much cash NY is actually paying though. Seems like Memphis just wants to dump Darko's contract. I think he might actually play well in Nellie's system with his skillset. D'Antoni thinks he can get production out of Darko in a run-gun style, I don't see why Nellie couldn't.

Would you deal for Darko & #2 pick?

Yes, I would. Darko's contract runs out this coming season. I'm not sure the Warriors can offer cap relief though.

Crawford's decision to opt out or not is huge.

Yes, but deal what is the question? I still believe Rubio is the best piece for the Warriors in this draft. Darko is an expiring so I don't mind taking that on even though I don't think that much of his game.

Memphis is difficult to deal with because of the salaries. They only have 3 players who make over $4M per year, and none who make $9M or more, so we can't really include Craw or Mags in there, especially if Memphis is trying to shed salary. Also, they only have 8 players signed for next year, and Mayo, Conley, Gay, and Gasol probably aren't going anywhere. That doesn't leave much to work with. If Darko is in the mix, it's hard to make it work without involving Turiaf, since he is the only Warrior with a salary between $3.2M and $7.1M.

One trade that works without Turiaf is Crawford, Belinelli, and the #7 for Darko, Greg Buckner (2 years @ ~$4M per, second year is a player option), and the #2, but Memphis is actually taking on salary there so that's probably out.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Memphis probably wouldn't mind dumping Gay, but I wouldn't want him.
