Yes I do. In fact I believe he is worth far more then those two players. Gay was a 18 point a game scorer on a completely shitty team. Conley really came on at the end of the season to average less points and assists the Rondo. Rondo has been to the finals and knows what it takes to get there. Not one other player on Memphis has that kind of experience. Were I the GM of Memphis I would do this deal in a second.
Rondo's success is the product of playing with 3 future hall of famers. I would want Rudy Gay on my team in a heartbeat over Rondo!
You're crazy. Rudy Gay is so overrated it's not even funny. Put Travis Outlaw in his situation, 2nd option on offense, and he'll put up just as good, if not better, numbers than Rudy Gay. Rondo over Rudy Gay all day.
Quit smokin' west hills gangsta! Rondo on a weak team would struggle. He's always left wide open. I could thrive playing with Boston's Big 3!
Rudy Gay is better than people think and Rondo is not as great as everyone thinks....That being said, I would take Rondo over Gay....Finding a PG is much more difficult IMO than finding a SF.... and I have to wonder with all these deals going down....Is Pritchard being frozen out of some deals? Sometimes success and the appearance of arrogance can backfire, and I keep wondering if that is catching up with Pritchard....teams asking for Batum or Rudy from POR and then making deals for the same players for chump change....makes you wonder....
I think you are underrating Ray Allen. He looks like a nice, clean-cut guy - but that dude can play Texas Hold 'Em Unless I am mis-reading you and you all are just gonna go play Bingo.
They probably aren't. Digging up negative quotes from 3 years ago was just a way for people to give credibility to a wild internet rumor.
This would have been an amazingly bad trade for Boston, but apparently untrue. I hope Ainge really is willing to part with Rondo, though, and Portland can acquire him. I think Rondo's limitation (shooting) would hamper him a bit on a team without other players to draw the defense, but that won't be an issue in Portland anyway, so no problem!
