Avery learned from the best defensive coach out there in Popovich so I'm sure he knows a lot from his experience in San Antonio. Nellie is a good offensive coach but you are overrating him if you say he is a good defensive coach. There was a lot of defensive mistakes during Nellie's reign and he played the "We will outscore you" card.

Howard filling in is good news for DAL since he can score 20+ pts and grab almost 7+ rebs which helps win a lot of games.

And basically it seems according to Followill Report, that the pf situation will be decided on by the end of the week. He says something will happen, but it's looking like the NBA won't give us a extra spot. So look at Powell being the backup unless we cut Rawle(who was supposedly according to Norm a Mavs radio analyst would be the likely cut.) For those who are saying no way we should cut Rawle, he won't be on the playoff roster and no team can sign him for the year. So we can basically retain him next year easy. And this recent injury situation is looking like Van Horn will be resigned. If we weren't planning on that, we would have cut him. That leaves us wanting to resign him cheap or sign and trade(unlikely).

I hope Van Horn is gone but that is just me. I think Josh Powell will have a better year next year and Van Horn has been a disappointment ever since he came to Dallas.
