I didn't put him on the level of Magic Johnson. What are you talking about?

And "the best PG prospect since Chris Paul" doesn't mean that he's as good as Chris Paul.

Your logic is very poor here, man.

I would sooner hire Damon Stoudamire as our backup point guard, and, ya know, provider of leadership and moral guidance, than do any of the trades listed here for Oden.

If we're trading Oden, there's only a couple of players I'd even consider, namely Lebron James or Chris Paul.

I wouldn't even trade Oden for Dwight Howard. I'm not convinced that Howard will remain the superior player.

Rubio falls to OKC and they offer the #3 pick and Durant for Oden (which they wouldn't), I'm listening. Otherwise, this is the silliest rumour I've heard in years.

OK, you put him as one of the best PG prospects since Magic Johnson. That's 30 years of PGs and perennial All-Stars/Hall of Fame players. IF Rubio is that good, KP has to pull the trigger. Oden hasn't even showed he can be a consistent starter in the NBA, let alone an All-Star/Hall of Fame talent.

I'd trade Oden for Howard. I think Oden has the talent to be better than Howard, but Howard is already 75% of what I think Oden's ceiling is. I'd trade the uncertainty of what Oden could be for the certainty that Howard brings. If Oden even reached Howard's level, Portland is possibly a title favourite.

Why in the world would they trade Durant for Oden straight up, let alone adding the #3 pick into the mix?

it's not inconceivable that joel would be traded since he
can opt out and become a FA after this season.

Well, Oden was (and is, in my opinion) one of the best center prospects since Shaq... I think that Oden has demonstrated a ton of ability to dominate, even though he was coming off of knee surgery.

I really like Rubio, but I like Oden more.

Because Presti is a smart fellow and knows that Oden is a superior ingredient for a championship run...

Luckily for us, KP is a smart fellow too.

He'd be run out of OKC if he gave up the #3 pick and Durant for Greg Oden, or even Durant straight up, and people would wonder if KP had compromising photos of Presti. Talk about overevaluating a player. Wow.

Well, I wouldn't do the deal because I don't value Rubio as much as you do. However, I also have lowered my expectations for Oden after watching him play a full season.
