If you can't beat him, acquire him. According to ESPN, Houston is looking to get into the lottery. Perhaps Portland could get a lottery pick, then turn that pick into Brooks. Frankly, I think Brooks is probably at least as good as anyone in this draft so I don't think Portland looses much. He is the kind of quick guard that is at a premium in today's NBA. I have no idea if it is possible, but if it were should Portland give it a shot? As for me, I would do it if it only cost Portland either Outlaw or Blake + Sergio and a lottery pick. Probably wouldn't do it for both even though I don't like either player, but I would think about it.
They have been talking about trading him, Landry and McGrady to PHX for Stoudemire for most of last night. So which part of that rings true with your statement?
Well color me bad! I didn't know there are rumors for Amare. And you would be stupid to not trade Brooks, T-Wack and Landry for Amare. Link? Cuz you know, it's not true unless there is a link.
The only links I know of about this are on ESPN Insider, so I can't provide one. I had seen the same thing. I am pretty sure the Suns are the ones holding up that deal. Not sure why, though. Looks like the Suns owner is trying to turn that team from "The Most Exciting Team in Basketball" to "Memphis West". If I were a Suns fan, I would be horribly depressed right now. Especially knowing that the problem begins at the top and can't ever be traded away.
It's on the NY POST with Vescey unfortunately. Which probably means you are right. Lol! When I read it on hoopshype I didn't know it was Vescey writing it!!
http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60069/20090625/amare_barbosa_to_houston_being_floated/ yeah Kerr is doing a great job with PHX.
Brooks, to me, is as good a talent as Telfair. He strings together a few bad games and just when you're about to give up on it, he has a terrific game and you're back on the bandwagon again, then those three bad games... Frankly, I think Sergio is an overall equivilant to Brooks.
Want some HO in that MER? I mean holy crap. Not only saying he is worse than Sergio, who I don't think is an NBA worthy player, but an ex blazer who sucks balls as well? Comon.
LOL. Agree. Brooks didn't nothing in the regular season to warrant trading a lotto pick for him. I think Blakes defense over inflates just how good Brooks is.
Brooks is one of those guys that folks either over-value or under-value. Is he worth a lotto pick? Doubtful. Is he going to be a nice, useful member of a winning team's rotation? I believe he will. Put it this way - there is a very real chance that Bayless turns out to be no better than Brooks.
Brooks is thoroughly mediocre. He has some value as a slightly below average point guard, but nothing worth pursuing.
