Well, we played this game couple years ago, so we may as well do it again.

Basically, you predict lottory picks, 1-14. If your pick is right, you get +1 point, and if you get everything right, you will end up with 14 points. But, if you get it wrong, you will start losing points. If you put Griffin at 1st and he is drafted at 2nd, you lose 1 point. If he is drafted at 3rd, you lose 2 points. If he is drafted at 58th, you lose 57 points, and so on. You can modify your picks as much as you like until 10 minutes before the draft starts, so that makes unitl 3:50 PM?

So, let's see who is the best at predicting this year's draft.

    1. Griffin
    2. Thabbet
    3. Rubio
    4. Evans
    5. Harden
    6. Curry
    7. Hill
    8. Flynn
    9. DeRozan.
    10. Jennings
    11. Johnson
    12. Williams
    13. Holiday
    14. Clark

    3. Rubio
    4. Evans
    5. Flynn
    6. Curry
    7. Hill
    8. Harden
    9. Johnson
    10. DeRozan
    11. Jennings
    12. Williams
    13. Hansbrough
    14. Holiday

BTW...I'm puttin it on record that I'm not a Hill fan. I hope the pick gets traded.

Likewise, I'm also hoping for a trade. I wouldn't be unhappy with Hill, but I wouldn't be too excited either. Ellis, Law, and Bellinelli don't give me a lot of confidence as a long term solution at PG, so if they can't score Rubio via trade, I'd want Evans or Curry. Flynn, Jennings, and Holiday are risky darkhorses for me, but it'd be interesting. If they want to play it safe, trade down for Lawson or Williams. One thing to keep in mind is that they're tlosing a roster spot with this Craw for Law+Clax trade, perhaps making it less likely they'll trade down for two picks.

EDIT: Switched Jennings and Williams after thinking about it, even though I think Jennings will fall, and while I think Phoenix would want him, I don't see him getting that far.

not saying that those teams will select those players but i see memphis making a deal for the 6th pick with minny and rubio going there at two, and evans going to memphis after another trade with sac, getting sac curry. also mullins sneaks in to phoenix after the shaq deal.

hill seems pretty redundant for the raps at 9, but maybe they take him as an insurance policy, and he seems like great value there as well.

Interesting. I do like your prediction that Thabeet isn't going to be picked 2nd...I really don't think he deserves to be picked that high. That means the Wolves would have three BIG men: Jefferson, Love, and Thabeet. Interesting indeed.

Thabeet is going to be a bust. He's tall, but struggled defending short PFs like DeJuan Blair. He's not physical at all and is going to be overwhelmed and foul prone in the NBA.

This is one of the weakest drafts in recent memory. I don't even think Griffin is going to be a stud. He'll be a good player in the league for many years, but not much better than that, IMO.

I agree. Baron Davis will make sure of that. I wonder how impatient Griffin gets when he hustles down the court and watches Baron jack up a 3 pointer ten times a game.

It wouldn't shock me for the Warriors to take Williams, Shape. Nor Ty Lawson. With Nellie there's always a good chance it'll be an unconventional pick that no one is talking about at that position.

The fact Michael Jordan doesn't want him probably means he'll be a stud.

Sergio Rodriguez was traded to Sacramento. I guess they won't be drafting a PG anymore. What does that say about the projected PGs they were going to take (Evans, Rubio, Flynn) if they settle for Sergio?

Well, Udrih was pretty bad and they had no backup for him. I still don't see them passing on one of the PG, even if they'll be career backups.

That's true. I wonder if they are planning for an All-Spain backcourt of Rubio/Rodriguez?

Stern gives props to the Lakers for winning the championship and gets a chorus of boos, lol.
