Each of our three current PGs has at least one glaring flaw: Blake: cannot penetrate (not much floor vision either) Sergio: cannot shoot or defend Bayless: not actually a PG. Plays with blinkers on. That said, I've a soft spot for each one of them and would like to see them happy. Assuming an ideal world where we can just acquire the PG of our dreams, where would be a nice place to send them where they can romp free in the long grass kicking their heels (like Billups getting to go to Denver, or Clyde to Houston)? My thoughts: Blake would be perfect in Orlando. Jameer Nelson might be the luckiest All-Star ever. Funny how after he went down he was so easily replaceable. I think Blake would be even better there. All he has to do is bring the ball up the court, give it to Turkoglu (whom they HAVE to re-sign, don't they?) and trot to the corner to wait for the ball to swing to him for his open three. Good times, nothing taxing. Sergio would be great in Sacramento. Let's face it, if Spencer Hawes is your center of the future, and Kevin Martin is your star player, you've given up on defense. Just run'n'gun! Spanish Chocolate could supplant his namesake in the hearts of Sacramento/Las Vegas/Anaheim/wherever the Kings end up. Bayless would be greeted in Cleveland with open arms. For God's Sake Cleveland needs a second player who can create his own shot! And they don't need a traditional PG because LeBron is their point forward. I told you Mo Williams was overrated!
Blake actually would fit in pretty well with the Lakers, I think. As a defender, he's nothing special but has size to not get abused by bigger guards and enough quickness to guard some PGs reasonably well. The thing that he does best is shoot open 3 pointers, and he would get a lot with the Lakers. Ed O.
Ha. That's funny. Unless of course Bayless has one of them airplane blinkers things on at the bottom of the fuselage and end of wings.
Perhaps Rasta meant that Bayless always signals his turns on the floor...definitely a problem, since it telegraphs to the defender which direction you're going to go.
You know there are 2 point guards on the team we have got to see a lot of, and we know what we have with them. There is one who we haven't, and some people are damned determined to torpedo him before he even gets a chance to play. How about giving him a full season of getting some minutes before pulling the plug on him.
Bayless plays with "blinkers" on? What exactly does that mean? Is his ass so big he needs backup lights or something?
