I like the Bulls' picks. If the Bulls lose Gordon and keep Hinrich and Deng is healthy, they could be pretty solid, if missing that one prolific scorer.
I don't think the Bulls are keeping Gordon. Del Negro was talking about what the Bulls have going forward, and he listed Tyrus Thomas, Joakim Noah, Brad Miller, Derrick Rose, and Kirk Hinrich as guys that Johnson and Taj will join. Gordon was conspicuously absent.
With the trade, we were essentially 1 pick away from walking away with BJ Mullens at 26. Tough break.
Gar Foreman just on ESPN says the bulls will hopefully have Gordon back. They're going to have to go into the LT to sign him, then trade away enough salary to get under it again, IMO. They figure the LT penalties at the end of the season, so the Bulls could go for some months over the LT and still not get penalized. Did I mention I really like Foreman already? I like the moves the Bulls have made at the trade deadline and now these two picks are pretty good. At least they're addressing our area of real need, he seems to get it.
I read that incentrive to stay under the lux tax is going to be significatnly less next season b/c Knicks and someone else (Mavs?) aren't blowing it out next season. EDIT: So that's good news in terms of signing BG.
The tax is still a penalty though. If the Bulls could give away Tyrus for a future pick or something, it'd save us $6M+ and give us room to sign Gordon. We're not really that far away from being able to do stuff. The Bulls probably want to re-sign Hunter, too.
Boy, Sergio Rodriquez stock has dropped. He is worth 6 slots in the 2nd round now. I like that pickup for the Kings.
