And we traded Sergio so that Bayless would be the clear cut back up, what happens if we sign that PG outright in free agency. What happens to Blake? Does he get back up minutes and Bayless stays at the end of the bench. It might just be logical to not pick up Blakes option which is for 4.25 million and add that total to our already 7 million in capspace. Couple that with our 3 million TE from the Ruffin trade and the ability to renounce Freeland and Kop and we have created roughly 15 million. I guess that number though would fluctuate depending on what the cap is set at but it would be more then enough room to sign a top PG outright or take back more salary in a lopsided trade. then we can hold onto Outlaw since we know that he has value across the league and can use him in a seperate trade. Thoughts?
Oh, I agree but I was working under the assumption that the team we are trading with might not want Blake in that case it would be easier to just let him walk then be stuck with him, Bayless and new PG.
Chris Paul, with our team = NBA championship if none of the big 3 were traded. That would be rediculous and I think Roy and Paul have good chemistry as evidence by how well those 2 play togethered in the last 2 allstar games. To bad it'd never happen.
If KP can pull off some magic . . . Blake would be the perfect back-up PG who can come in and knock down the 3,already knows the system, is a good character guy and will accept his role. I'm hoping it is Bayless who is included in a trade . . . but I think Blake is the one with trade value, not Bayless. Nothing against Bayless, but you know what you are going to get with Blake as a back up (insert anit-Blake joke here )
I would love to get Rondo, but what would it take? It seems like Boston is trying to add a few more veterans to try to make one or two more title runs... we don't exactly have vets that fit the bill.
How about this: Trade Outlaw + Bayless+ Blake + Rudy for Amare. Trade Amare for Rondo and Ray Allen. Rondo/Mills Roy/Ray Allen Webster/Batum Aldridge/Pendegraph Oden/Przybilla
I like Rondo, but for some reason I'd be kind of scared to get him considering all the negative publicity he has been getting from the Celtics since the offseason began. I mean he was amazing in the playoffs, should not be on the block yet Ainge and Rivers are constantly taking digs at him through the media. Maybe there is something to that. Also consider if he is really that difficult of a player to deal with they have allstar/superstar vets on that team to keep him in line (Garnett, Pierce and Allen). Who would keep him in line on our team, Roy? He might not want to defer to a player almost his same age.
You know, that's possible, but it also might be as simple as Boston trying to add a couple more pieces before their window closes. How much longer do they have before Pierce and Garnett are used up? I think that rumor about Boston offering Rondo and Allen for Prince and Hamilton was probably true. If Boston added Prince and Hamilton, that would give them an extra boost.
