Apparently they heard that the Blazers are trying to pry Devin Harris away but gave no other details. As much as I'd like that it just seems so far fetched.
It'll cost a lot. I also think it's more than Adam basing it on an assumption. As long as we aren't giving up our obvious cornerstones, I'll be OK with anything as long as we can pair Harris with Roy. Depending on the package we'll still have a hole to fill at SF via free agency (Hedo, Artest?).
They didn't bring in Rafer Alston to replace Devin Harris. That trade was purely a salary dump. Battie and Alston are both expiring contracts and Courtney Lee is on a cheap rookie scale contract. New Jersey is clearly in re-buildng mode and Harris is young enough to be part of that. BNM
- RealGM Not directly related to this rumor but NJ is trying to shed salary for two reasons - Their impending move to Brooklyn and to make their pitch to LeBron James in 2010. Does KP smell blood in the water?
If Ratner sells the team, will they still move to Brooklyn? He's the one who wants to move them to the site he's developing in downtown Brooklyn. I would think Ratner selling the team would be a sure sign they aren't moving to Brooklyn. Also, how realistic are their chances at landing LeBron if they entire gut the team to clear cap space. LeBron wants a shot at multiple rings - not starting over with a depleted roster. BNM
Hinrich, Harris, Kidd, Miller, whatever and whomever, I just think a rotation of Blake/Bayless/Mills is awfully thin, especially with Mills probably slotted to be stashed overseas for a couple of years. I sure hope something comes to fruition.
2011 Nets Harris Lee Lebron Yi Lopez 2011 Cavs Mo Williams West Lebron JJ Hickson AV I think the Nets roster is much better than the Cavs 2 years from now.
You can cross Harris off that list for the purposes of this discussion - the premise was they are shopping Harris to help create the cap space need to sign LeBron. BNM
